I haven`t been to Korea. That`s why my main escape with my eagerness to go to Korea is eating Korean food. Well, I don’t know much about Korean cuisine. All I know is Samgyeupsal and kimchi.
The other day I visited a Korean restaurant in downtown Sendai near Kokubuncho. Entering their shop feels like you are in a real Korean restaurant. They serve `street cart food` style. I tried some of their famous food recommendations. First, I ate salad and tried their Samgyeupsal. I chose sesame and spicy pork belly and Kimchi, chili, and garlic and wrapped it in a lettuce. I also had different kinds of deep-fried flavored chicken and chapchae. By the way, their crispy kimchi is the best.
Another thing I love about Korean food is that there are made with lots of health-promoting ingredients, with most of them relying on healthy seasonings and organic/freshly sourced materials for their preparations, which is important, especially at a time when concern for one’s health.
Most Korean food like kimchi goes through various fermentation and preservation processes which are known for creating a wide variety of nutrients that not only make food healthier to consume but also easier to digest. I am equally fascinated by how Korean foods are presented and served because they are usually appealing to the eyes, which increases one’s longing for them.
Overall, I love food adventure and indeed my experience with Korean food has been an amazing one and it has exposed me to the richness of the Korean food culture.
