As the days grow darker, Japan turns to the light. The country’s love of illumination starts throughout the autumn and winter months. It transforms its cities, villages, shopping malls, parks, gardens, temples, and more, into dazzling winter wonderlands of light-based attractions. They have become an essential element of Japan’s autumn and winter calendar and a must-see for the Japanese and foreigners living here in Japan.
Illumination is one of my most awaited events here in Japan during winter, why? Because it feels like I`m home in the Philippines. In the Philippines when the `BER` months start illumination starts. Dazzling illuminations at a park, church, shopping center, or even at the roadside and most especially house Christmas light decoration. There`s no need for the help of city lights, hundred thousand of small bright lights are enough to light up the place.
I feel Nostalgic when seeing illumination. It brings back my good old memories of when I was young, with a complete family going to church and sharing laughter while watching Illumination and eating sweet rice cake and flavored popcorn.
I`m looking forward for the grandest Illumination here in Sendai.
