Seisuiji Temple
清水寺
There is the wooden stage immitating that of Kiyomizudera Temple in Kyoto.
京都の清水寺の舞台を模倣している。
I went to the highest mountain in Sado Island.
佐渡島最高峰を目指す。
Mt. Kinpokusan is the highest in this island.
金北山である。
I had two options to reach the top of Mt. Kinpokusan.
金北山山頂を目指すには二つの選択肢があった。
One was to walk along mountain ridges, and another was to walk on the paved road.
一つは縦走、もう一つは舗装道路を歩く。
I finally chose the latter, taking my equipment into account.
装備を考慮し、後者を選ぶ。
The top was surrounded by clouds.
山頂は雲に囲まれていた。
The paved road walking was dull, but I could find a lot of beautiful flowers.
舗装道路は味気なくも、きれいな花を見つけることができた。

The crested ibis
トキ
Japanese crested ibis became extinct in 2003.
日本のトキは2003年に絶滅している。
Sado had been the important habitat for them.
佐渡は重要な生息地であった。

Sukunegi
宿根木
The old houses were built close together in this area.
民家が立ち並ぶ。
Sukunegi became prosperous mainly through shipping industry and shipbuilding industry.
宿根木は海運と造船で繁栄した。
It was like a maze.
迷路のようだ。
I was careful not to trouble residents.
住民に迷惑をかけないように。
