３．Add up to something

Phrasal verbs の A、３回目は「足して」です。Equal の意味になります。

 

ある一定の金額になります、という言い方。

 

例えば、

　The total costs add up to twelve thousand yen.

「全部で１万２千円です。」

結果がこうなった、というときにも使えます。

　All the changes added up to a lot of over-time work for me.

「変更がたくさんあったから、結果残業が増えたよ。」
