Journal of a "Bride" in New York

I write my daily experiences outside Japan.

Illness

It is snowy mixed with rain today.
A snowman can be made with that sticky snow.

BTW, my husband came back home early from work,
since he got sick.

He was in the Catholic hospital in Manhattan for business
I hope he didn't catch something in that hospital.

He was so sick that he had no appetite for dinner.
He must be very sick to say such a thing like that.
It is good! It’s a chance to lose weight, I thought.

He had a pain all over his body, running a temperature.
He looked so sick that I felt sorry for him and prayed for him.
Then he raved in fever, saying, “Thank you, God,” and fell into sleep.

Now I wonder why it's so quiet outside. It's blowing snow.

New Year's Eve

2011-01-01 | 日記

Every New Year's eve I used to watch an annual year-end Japanese grand song festival
on TV with my family over a wonderful dinner.
In 2010, I watched with my husband the annual countdown in Times Square, Manhattan.
I didn't hear temple bells ring but saw many colorful fireworks
from the apartment window this year.
The New Year's eve was over in a celebratory mood instantly, and greeted the year 2011.

Also, on the New Year's eve, we attended the New Year's worship service
in Tokyo on the Internet Live. The message really touched my heart.
I am thankful that I will be able to walk,
supported by the truthful, powerful word of God in the coming year as well.

"And we know in all things God works for the good of those who love him,
who have been called according to his purpose."
Romans 8:28
