Journal of a "Bride" in New York

I write my daily experiences outside Japan.

The Sea of Galilee and its surroundings

2014-10-31 | 日記

The rainbow appeared before boarding the boat on the Sea of Galilee.

The disciples of Jesus was fishing at this Sea.

Now we headed for Capernaum the town of Jesus, located in the northern part of Galilee.

There were the remains of the house of Apostle Peter's mother-in-law, the syangoue, etc.

Here is another remains of the house at the time of Jesus.

We were able to see how the leper carried by his friends in the Bible had entered through the roof

from the then structure of the house: brick walls with the palm tree in the center of the house, roofed with its leaves.

Caesarea

The cobalt blue ocean ahead is the Mediterranean Sea.

Here is the ruins of Caesarea which used to be the capital of Roman Empire.

(The person in the middle is the tour guide Russian Jew.)

It's Caesarea that appears in the Bible

It's also the land where Apostle Paul departed from its port for missionary trips

and also where he was imprisoned.

This is the monument which has an inscription of Pontius Pilatus who was the prefect of Roman province of Judea,

overseeing the trial of and execution of Jesus Christ.

So it's archaeologically a very important discovery

that proves that Pilatus in the Bible was historically alive, so was Jesus Christ !

He is forever alive!

Arrival

2014-10-28 | 日記
We have safely arrived at Tel Aviv in Israel!

We are waiting for the team to arrive from Japan.

It took us about 9 hours from New York via Roma;

it is far closer than it is to come to Japan.

I just exchanged dollars to shekels at the airport.

Five more hours till they arrive.

Healing

It seems that a short autumn season is going to be over;

the temperature already drops as low as 10 ℃ now.

By the way, my husband has had a pain in the right arm for many days now.

Thanks to the kindness of his company's boss, he went to have acupuncture where his boss often gets treatment.

I am blessed with good health, and am thankful that I recently got my eyes to see clearly.

When the pastor from Tokyo came to minister at our church meeting,

in the time of a final prayer ministry,

he said, "There is a person whose eyes were tired and had blurred vision. He or she got healed."

(which is called "Word of wisdom and knowledge" written in I Cor. Ch.12)

The following morning when I read the Bible, I found myself reading the small letters on it as easily as I used to do.

Then I realized the word had been spoken to me.

I was beginning to think that it was almost time to wear reading glasses.

It is likely I got some more time till then.

I give thanks and praise to the Lord!
