Korean friend

One Sunday we entered the Korean church
for our p.m. worship service
right after their a.m. service was over.

Then Mr. K. a young-looking Korean person talked to us,
who was a friendly brand new assistant pastor.

Assoc.Pastor K.: “I had had hard time for the past two years
since God didn’t speak to me about my direction.
Besides I didn’t have English communication skill.”

Husband: “I’ve been living here for 30 years,
but I don’t speak either English or Japanese well enough. Ha-ha.”

Since he and my husband was speaking English, the foreign language,
they couldn’t fully make themselves understood
and sometimes had misunderstanding, with some speculations.

However, they both believe the same God
and it is wonderful that
they could make friends with each other soon !!

Social Security Card Part 2

My social security card has come !

My husband said to me, “You've finally got your uniform number.
Don't lose it. Don't burn it up. It's your lifetime number.”

I thought it's a temporary card because it's just a piece of paper.
However, it was a genuine and authentic one,
though it looked cheaper than a credit card.

Right away I went to the bank to open an account under my name with that card.

It makes me feel I've become an adult here.

"With a social security number, you can get a driving license, as well.
BTW, I love being on a passenger’s seat."
