The temperature is gradually dropping. It`s time for me to take my first onsen experience this year. Going to an Onsen is my favorite part of the cold season. I can`t go to the onsen when it's summer. They say it's healthy, but for me, going to an onsen in summer makes my blood pressure peak.
The first time I tried an onsen here in Japan, I was really shy. As Filipinos, we are not accustomed to going in an onsen naked. But as time went by, I got used to it, and I enjoyed it a lot. There are different kinds of onsen. You can go to an indoor or outdoor onsen. Outdoor onsens are my favorite because the balance of hot water and cold air dampens your skin.
There are thousands of Onsen in Japan. But what I liked is theonsen in Naruko because it's authentic and close to nature. Bare in mind when going to an onsen we need to observe onsen etiquette like you must be completely naked, rinse before entering, do not put your face and hair into the water, chatting is not allowed, and no photos. With these observed etiquettes, you can enjoy your bathing and be relaxed.
