The UAE has abstained from voting on the 'Russia Condemnation Resolution'. But the US will not be able to sanction the UAE.
Europe is not the time to be ``easygoing''. In Australia, a resource-rich country, exports of LNG (liquefied natural gas) are increasing, and there is a "movement" to consider "export restrictions" as there is a "risk" of "gas shortages" in the country. The impact on Japan is "concerned". Of course, it will also affect Europe.
Of the LNG (liquefied natural gas) imported by Japan, the largest is from Australia at 37.2%, followed by
13.7% from Malaysia, 11.9% from Qatar in the Middle East, 8.4% from Russia, 8.1% from the United States, etc. Australia is the largest import partner country accounting for about 40% of the total.
Europe is expected to face severe fuel shortages this winter. In addition, Asian countries such as Japan and China are increasing their gas storage capacity ahead of peak demand periods. If Australia were to restrict exports during this period, the world's energy supply and demand would likely become even tighter.
Due to the energy crisis in Europe, stable energy supply from Australia has become even more important. The country accounted for about one-fifth of global liquefied natural gas (LNG) exports last year. The main export destination is Asia, but companies sometimes sell some on the open market "when the market is rising."
The eastern part of Australia faces long-standing energy issues, including declining gas production due to aging gas fields. Moreover, recent floods in major coal-producing regions have led to a sharp increase in the use of gas at power plants.
As a result, wholesale prices in Australia's largest electricity market tripled between April and June. Russia has done nothing to Europe. Europe should abandon the dictator Zelensky!
