昔から紳士の国、英国と云われておりまして、それは熟練の職人さん達の手に依る手仕事で成り立ってきたのかな？
と昨今思っております。
世界中の男が憧れる国ですので、昔のロールスロイスやベントレー、革製品にビスポークのスーツや靴など、
どれを取りましても親から子にそして孫にと受け継がれていく事も多くて、勿論アフターケアーなども万全ですから
使い倒して修理を重ねて素晴らしいエイジングが生まれてくるのだと思いますね。
そんな英国も職人さん離れが激しいみたいで、僕達の業界でもシェットランドスウェーターのPETER BLANCEなども
ハンドフレームのシャギードッグが、今後途絶えてしまうのではないか？などと懸念しております。
今年、カシミア100％で別注しておりますINVERALLANのスウェーターなども、手編みは、いつの日か消えてしまう
のではないか？などと怖いお話などもよく耳にしますね。
ベントレーやロールスロイスやディムラーW６など手仕事の香る自動車が消え去ってしまった様に洋服の業界にも
訪れるのではないかと不安な日々を過ごしております。
そんな近況の中でも

Just as handcrafted automobiles such as Bentley, Rolls-Royce, and Daimler W6 have disappeared, so too has the clothing industry.

今日は、GLENROYALの財布の中でもスタンダードな僕好みな逸品の御紹介になります。
（僕好みと書きましたが、実は財布は持たない主義でジーパンの右が札で左が小銭で収納しています）
僕的にシンプルな物が好きなので、
This GLENROYAL is stubbornly produced in the UK and is still hand-crafted by craftsmen.
Today, I would like to introduce one of my favorite standard GLENROYAL wallets.
(I wrote that I like it, but in fact, I don't carry a wallet, so I store bills on the right side of my jeans and coins on the left side.)

どちらも手仕事に依るブライドルレザーを使用しておりますので、長年の御使用でのエイジングも十二分に

一流品の一流品たるところは、アフターケアーが出来るかどうかだと思うのです。
30代の頃、パリのHERMESで二つ折りの財布を購入しまして、其の当時は気に入って使っていたのですが、
ある日、飼い犬（其の当時はパグで名前はポン吉！）が、噛み砕いて二つ折りの財布がバラバラ殺人事件と
なっておりました！
縫い目から綺麗にバラバラではなくて皮革部分が噛み砕かれておりましたので、修繕不可能と思っておりましたが、
再度パリに出向いた際に、HERMESに持参したところ、革小物のコーナーの方に恐る恐る見せますと、
驚きもせずに、（少々お待ち下さい）と。
しばらくしますと、革製品の専門担当の方が、（お受けさせて頂きますが、修理代金は新品を購入されるのと
さほど変わらなくなってくると思いますが、よろしいでしょうか？）と。
僕も修理可能との事にビックリしまして、思わずお願いします！と。
三ヶ月後にパリに行きまして、HERMESで受け取りに行きましたが、新品購入よりは多少お安い修理代金でした。
しかし、ビックリしたのは、全く綺麗に治っておりまして、ひょっとしたら新品を渡してくれたのではないか？と
疑ったものでした。
他にもHERMESでの面白いお話はあるのですが、それは又次回にさせて頂きますね。
さて財布を開きますと、
