Ukraine was planning to buy more military drones from Turkey. Russia has stepped up its view that any military "provocation" against separatist groups in Donbas will have serious consequences for the entire Ukrainian state.

So days after the drone reconnaissance and attack, the Russian Army deployed tanks near the Ukrainian border. On November 7, 2021, at least one battalion of tanks had assembled. Eventually over 100,000 troops are assembled.

The US has made a fuss about this as an aggressive attitude towards Ukraine and has "labeled" Russia for "invasion" of Ukraine. In the first place, President Putin simply gathered the military to counter drone attacks from Ukraine as a check.

As the United States made a fuss, President Putin jumped on the bandwagon and confronted the United States with the suspension of NATO's eastward expansion, which he had long demanded. In December 2021, Russia issued a condition that it would "withdraw its troops if it were written that it would not expand NATO to the east" (according to an international treaty).

In January 2022, the United States and NATO began negotiations to bring Russia closer together. But Zelensky, fearing that things would be decided in Ukraine's absence, sought to negotiate directly with Russia, he threw a damper on "almost agreed talks" between "US-NATO" and Russia.

そのため、ゼレンスキーはドンバス地方奪還に向けて、軍事力による解決を試みている。21年4月にトルコから購入した軍事用ドローンをドンバス地方での偵察飛行に利用した。

さらに、10月末にこのドローンによって、ドネツク州の都市近郊で分離独立派武装組織の榴（りゅう）弾砲を爆破した。

ウクライナがトルコからさらに軍事用ドローンを購入する計画を進めていた。ロシアは、ドンバスの独立派組織に対する軍事的な「挑発」行為は、ウクライナ国家全体に深刻な結果をもたらすとの見方を強めた。

そのためドローン偵察・攻撃から数日後には、ロシア陸軍は戦車をがウクライナ国境付近に配備した。2021年11月7日には少なくとも一個大隊分の戦車が集結した。最終的に10万人を超える軍隊が集結している。

米国は、これをウクライナに対する攻撃的態度と騒ぎ立て、ロシアに、ウクライナへの「侵略」の「レッテル」を貼った。プーチン大統領はそもそもウクライナからのドローン攻撃に対抗すべく、けん制の意味を込めて軍隊を集結させただけである。

2022年1月には、米国およびNATOがロシアに歩み寄る方向で交渉を始めた。しかしゼレンスキーは、ウクライナ不在のまま物事が決められることを恐れて、ロシアと直接交渉しようと、「米国・NATO」とロシアの間で「ほぼ合意される協議」に、彼は水を差した。

結局、欧米の首脳はゼレンスキーに振り回された。彼らは「どんな弱み」を、ゼレンスキーに握られているのだろう。
