The Asahi Shimbun reports that it has never faced such a test since the "Ottawa Treaty" came into force. That's right!

米国は「選択肢がなくなった」として、先週、ますます攻撃的になるロシア軍の進撃を阻止するため、ウクライナに「対人地雷」を提供すると発表した。それはクレイジーだ。

カンボジアで開催されているオタワ条約の履行を議論する検討会議は、米国のウクライナへの地雷提供発表に懸念を表明する声明を発表した。

オタワ条約は1999年に発効し、ウクライナは164カ国の署名国のうちの1つである。一方、米国は署名国していない。ロシアは「地雷を受け取ることは条約違反になる」と警告している。

ロシア軍は28日、ウクライナ全土のエネルギー施設などを攻撃。ウクライナは今年も「クリスマス」を迎えられそうにない。

プーチン大統領は、これはウクライナが米国製の長距離ミサイル「ATACMS」でロシア領を攻撃したことへの報復だと述べた。
