　　既に寄稿したフランス旅行のブログを再編集するとともに、新たな投稿を順次アップしてゆきます。

　　フランスは大きく分けると、北部沿岸部、北部内陸部、中部、南部に分類できます。先ずは、南部の旅から始めます。

フランス旅行（南部）

(１)　アキテーヌ地方(Region de Aquitene)

a.　バイヨンヌ　Bayonnne（ピレネー・アトランティック県 Dep. des Pyrenees-Atlantiques)

　　2009年5月にフランス南部のバスク地方(Pays basques francais)を訪れました。バスク地方は慣用名であり、行政的には、ピレネー・アトランティック県に属します。

　　バスク地方を訪れた目的は、3年目となるサンチャゴ巡礼において、その年の出発点がバスク地方だったからです。その機会に、往路ではバスク地方主要都市のバイヨンヌ、帰路ではフランス西南端のリゾート地であるアンダイエ(Hendaye)などに立ち寄りました。
　　Upon my trip to France in May, 2009, I visited the French Basque region. The main objective was to restart my 3rd year walk of the way of Saint James from the basque region that year. On that occasion, I visited Bayonne-major city in the Basque region, and, on my return jouney of the pilgrimage, Hendaye, a resort town at the furthest point in the South West of France.

　　今回の記事は、バイヨンヌに滞在したときの旅日記です。
　　Today's writing is about my trip to Bayonne.

             　バイヨンヌの紋章 Blazon of Bayonne

　　私は、旧市街の一角にあるホテルに宿を取りました。

　　ここから坂を登ってゆくと、古城の遺跡などがありました。逆に坂を下りてゆくと、サント・マリー大聖堂(St. Mary Cathedral)があり、アドゥール川(L'Adour)が流れています。

　　アドゥール河畔から見た市街地の風景はまさに絵画を見ているようにとても美しい眺めです。この町にはバスク博物館があり、その歴史、風俗、文化、芸術などバスク地方全般の情報や展示品に接する事ができます。
　　 When I walked up the slope along street, I got to the old castle. When I walked down in the opposite dirction, I found St. Mary Cathedral and the river named l'Adour.

　　The view of the town from l'Adour is absolutely picturesque and still vivid in my memory. In this town, there is a Basque Museum that provides us with the information or display on its history, mode of life, culture and arts.

　　バイヨンヌの人口は4万人ほどですが、サイバーネット・カフェもありインターネットを利用できるので、とても便利でした。

　　Though Bayonne is rather a small town with the inhabitants of about 40 thousand, I found a cybernet cafe where I could use the internet.
