さらに、主の言葉が私に臨んでこう言いました。
2 「人の子よ！主なる神はイスラエルの地についてこう言われる。
『終わりだ！ 終わりは地の四隅に来た。
3 今、終わりがあなたの上にある。
わたしはわたしの怒りをあなたの上に送り、あなたの道に従ってあなたを裁き、あなたのすべての忌まわしい行いをあなたの上に行うであろう。
4 わたしの目はあなたを惜しまず、また憐れまず、あなたの道をあなたの上に移し、あなたの忌まわしいものをあなたの中に入れる。』」
5 主なる神はこう言われる。
「わざわいが、特別なわざわいが、見よ！それは来る。
6 終わりは来る。終わりは来る。それはあなたにむかって目覚め、見よ！それは来る。
7 この地の住民よ！転機はあなたに臨む。
時は来た。騒ぎの日は近い。山の上では喜びの叫びはしない。
8 今、わたしはわが怒りをあなたの上に注ぎ、わが怒りをあなたの上に注ぎ、あなたの道に従って、あなたを裁き、あなたのすべての憎むべきことをあなたの上に行うであろう。
9 わたしの目は惜しまず、憐れまず、あなたの道にしたがって、あなたに臨み、あなたの忌まわしいことが、あなたの中にあることを、あなたがたは知るであろう。

10 その日を見よ！見よ！それは来る。回心は起こる。
杖は花開き、傲慢は芽を出した。
10 見よ。その日だ。その日が来る。あなたの終局がやって来ている。杖が花を咲かせ、高慢がつぼみを出した。

11 暴虐は邪悪の杖となり、彼らから何も出ず、彼らの騒動からも出ず、彼らの間に鋭さもない。
11 暴虐はつのって悪の杖となり、彼らも、その群衆も、彼らの富もなくなり、彼らのために嘆く者もいなくなる。
12 時は来た。日は近づいた。買う者は喜んではならない。売る者は嘆いてはならない。なぜなら、怒りがそのすべての群衆の上にあるのだから。
13 売り手はまだ生きていても、売られたものを返さない。
14 彼らは角笛を吹き、すべての用意をしたが、誰も戦いに出なかった。
15 剣は外にあり、疫病と飢饉は内にあり、野にいる者は剣で死に、町にいる者は飢饉と疫病で食い尽くされる。
16 しかし、これらの者から少しでも逃れた者は、谷の鳩のように山の上にいて、みな自分の咎のためにうめき声をあげる。
17 すべての手は弛み、すべての膝は水が滴るようになる。
18 彼らはまた荒布を身にまとい、恐れをもってこれを覆い、恥がすべての顔に、はげがすべての頭にかかる。

5 神である主はこう仰せられる。「わざわいが、ただわざわいが来る。
6 終わりが来る。その終わりが来る。あなたを起こしに、今、やって来る。
7 この地に住む者よ。あなたの上に終局が来る。その時が来る。その日は近い。しかし、山々での歓声の日ではなく、恐慌の日だ。
8 今、わたしはただちに、憤りをあなたに注ぎ、あなたへのわたしの怒りを全うする。わたしはあなたの行いにしたがって、あなたを裁き、あなたのすべての忌みきらうべきわざに報いをする。
9 わたしは惜しまず、あわれまない。わたしがあなたの行いに仕返しをし、あなたのうちに忌みきらうべきわざをあらわにする時、あなたがたは、わたしがあなたがたを打っている主であることを知ろう。
10 見よ。その日だ。その日が来る。あなたの終局がやって来ている。杖が花を咲かせ、高慢がつぼみを出した。
11 暴虐はつのって悪の杖となり、彼らも、その群衆も、彼らの富もなくなり、彼らのために嘆く者もいなくなる。
12 その時が来た。その日が近づいた。買う者も喜ぶな。売る者も嘆くな。燃える怒りがそのすべての群集にふりかかるから。
13 売る者は、生きながらえても、打った物を取り返せない。幻がそのすべての群集にあっても、群集は帰らない。だれも、自分の不義のうちにいながら、奮い立って生きることはできないからだ。
14 ラッパが吹き鳴らされ、みなの準備ができても、だれも戦いに行かない。わたしの燃える怒りがそのすべての群集にふりかかるからだ。
15 外には剣、内には疫病時きんがあり、野にいる者は剣に死に、町にいる者はききんと疫病に滅ぼし尽くされる。
16 それをのがれた者が逃げて、山々に行っても、彼らは谷間の鳩のようになって、みな自分の不義のために泣き悲しむ。
17 彼らはみな気力を失い、彼らのひざもみな震える。
18 彼らは荒布を身にまとい、恐怖に包まれ、彼らはみな恥じて顔を赤くし、彼らの頭はみなそられてしまう。
19 彼らは銀を道ばたに投げ捨て、彼らの金は汚物のようになる。銀も金も、主の激しい怒りの日に彼らを救い出すことはできない。それらは彼らの飢えを飽きたらせることも、彼らの腹を満たすこともできない。それらが彼らを不義に引き込んだからだ。
20 彼らはこれを、美しい飾り物として誇り、これで彼らの忌みきらうべきもの、忌むべきものの像を造った。それで、わたしはそれを、彼らにとって汚物とする。
21 わたしはそれを他国人の手に獲物として渡し、この国の悪者どもに分捕り物として渡し、それを汚れさせる。

Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying:
2 'And thou, son of man, thus saith the Lord GOD concerning the land of Israel: An end! the end is come upon the four corners of the land.
3 Now is the end upon thee, and I will send Mine anger upon thee, and will judge thee according to thy ways; and I will bring upon thee all thine abominations.
4 And Mine eye shall not spare thee, neither will I have pity; but I will bring thy ways upon thee, and thine abominations shall be in the midst of thee; and ye shall know that I am the LORD. 
5 Thus saith the Lord GOD: An evil, a singular evil, behold, it cometh.
6 An end is come, the end is come, it awaketh against thee; behold, it cometh.
7 The turn is come unto thee, O inhabitant of the land; the time is come, the day of tumult is near, and not of joyful shouting upon the mountains.
8 Now will I shortly pour out My fury upon thee, and spend Mine anger upon thee, and will judge thee according to thy ways; and I will bring upon thee all thine abominations.
9 And Mine eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity; I will bring upon thee according to thy ways, and thine abominations shall be in the midst of thee; and ye shall know that I the LORD do smite.
10 Behold the day; behold, it cometh; the turn is come forth; the rod hath blossomed, arrogancy hath budded.
11 Violence is risen up into a rod of wickedness; nought cometh from them, nor from their tumult, nor from their turmoil, neither is there eminency among them.
12 The time is come, the day draweth near; let not the buyer rejoice, nor the seller mourn; for wrath is upon all the multitude thereof.
13 For the seller shall not return to that which is sold, although they be yet alive; for the vision is touching the whole multitude thereof, which shall not return; neither shall any stand possessed of the iniquity of his life.
14 They have blown the horn, and have made all ready, but none goeth to the battle; for My wrath is upon all the multitude thereof.
15 The sword is without, and the pestilence and the famine within; he that is in the field shall die with the sword, and he that is in the city, famine and pestilence shall devour him.
16 But they that shall at all escape of them, shall be on the mountains like doves of the valleys, all of them moaning, every one in his iniquity.
17 All hands shall be slack, and all knees shall drip with water.
18 They shall also gird themselves with sackcloth, and horror shall cover them; and shame shall be upon all faces, and baldness upon all their heads.
19 They shall cast their silver in the streets, and their gold shall be as an unclean thing; their silver and their gold shall not be able to deliver them in the day of the wrath of the LORD; they shall not satisfy their souls, neither fill their bowels; because it hath been the stumblingblock of their iniquity.
20 And as for the beauty of their ornament, which was set for a pride, they made the images of their abominations and their detestable things thereof; therefore have I made it unto them as an unclean thing.
21 And I will give it into the hands of the strangers for a prey, and to the wicked of the earth for a spoil; and they shall profane it.
22 I will also turn My face from them, and they shall profane My secret place; and robbers shall enter into it, and profane it.
23 Make the chain; for the land is full of bloody crimes, and the city is full of violence.
24 Wherefore I will bring the worst of the nations, and they shall possess their houses; I will also make the pride of the strong to cease; and their holy places shall be profaned.
25 Horror cometh; and they shall seek peace, and there shall be none.
26 Calamity shall come upon calamity, and rumour shall be upon rumour; and they shall seek a vision of the prophet, and instruction shall perish from the priest, and counsel from the elders.
27 The king shall mourn, and the prince shall be clothed with appalment, and the hands of the people of the land shall be enfeebled; I will do unto them after their way, and according to their deserts will I judge them; and they shall know that I am the LORD.'
