2018しかりべつ湖コタン。１月２７日（土）開村予定。

　然別湖は北海道のほぼ真ん中に位置している「大雪山国立公園」の中にある神秘の自然湖です。周りを深い森に囲まれ、多くの手つかずの森が今もなお残っています。

　この自然の中で環境的にもインパクトが少ないイベントして厳寒期の北海道を広く紹介するものとなっています。若者たち数名が北国ならではの楽しみを発見しようと、然別湖上に氷の家（イグルー）を作ったのがコタンのきっかけです。

　この氷の家は、春になれば自然に溶け、廃棄物による湖水汚染も必要ない遊び心満点の建造物です。地元青年や子ども達も参加し、然別湖は冬も楽しめる環境として注目されました。その後、湖上露天風呂やアイスバーも開設され、北海道の冬の風物詩として海外からも注目されるイベントに育っています。

　毎年１月中旬に開村。ボランティアのみなさん、陸上自衛隊鹿追駐屯地のご協力を得て開催されているイベントです。

The 2018 Lake Shikaribetsu Kotan (Village) is scheduled to open on January 27. Lake Shikaribetsu is mysterious lake that is located within Daisetsuzan National Park, which is roughly situated in the middle of Hokkaido. Surrounded by lush forest, the majority of the landscape remains untouched. This is an event where we are able to showcase the colder months of Hokkaido without having a negative impact on the natural environment. Igloos are constructed on the surface of the lake to showcase the unique pleasures of the northern country to the younger generation. The melting of these ice structures in the spring leave no traces of waste, resulting in a fun event with no water pollution. The local youth and children also take part in the festivities, making Lake Shikaribetsu a fun environment during the winter months, as well. The Ice Bar and the Outdoor Hot Spring have also gained international attention as a seasonal cue for Hokkaido Winters.This event is made possible through the cooperation of volunteers and the Shikaoi Self-Defence Force.​
