Background
As car can shorten the time spent on the way, it significantly breaks the limit of space and time, which means it inadvertently increase people’s life quality. Hence, a car also becomes one of the major purchases for students. Yet, students have problems with choosing an affordable car to buy.

Statement of the Problem
For students, the difficulty is to choose the right car with a limited budget. The focus of this study will be to find a range of suitable cars concerning students’ expected investment of and their main concern of a good car.

Purpose of the Study
The objective of this study is to provide information that will help students in decision making when they buy a car for themselves.

Scope of Analysis
Three factors will be analyzed:
1. What is the average amount students would like to invest in a car?
2. The performances of cars that is in the affordable price range and available in the market.
3. What are the students’ perceptions of a suitable car?

Methodology
To meet the objective of the study I will use both secondary and primary data.

Secondary data. Configurations of cars will be obtained from official website of the car manufacturers. These publications will supply information that helps to develop scopes in the questionnaire for gathering primary data.

Primary data. Primary data will be acquired through questionnaire with students visiting the canteen and in the activity hall.

The sample. A carefully-designed questionnaire will be used, which will be randomly given to students.


Delimitations
The research will be delimitated in the following ways:
1. Survey will be confined to the campus.
2. Survey will be restricted to a week in July.

Limitations
The following limitations of the study must be acknowledged at this time:
1. Students who were not in the canteen might have different financial ability and opinion of the qualities of a suitable car.
2. Students who were not on the campus during this time might have different financial ability and opinion of the qualities of a suitable car.

Data Analysis
Summary statistics will be computed with careful calculations.

Test and Revise Questionnaire July 30-31
Conduct Suvey August 4-9
Analyze Data August 10-12
Deliver Report August 13

Resources Needed
A research associate will use approximately 100 hours to prepare the data collection instruments, enter and analyze the data, and prepare the final report. We anticipate employing a team of 7 people with 7 computers and 1 printer in the surveys. Standard cost allocations for the respective job grades will be applied.

Presentation of Results
I will present our findings as recommendations to students in a written report which will be released online on student forum no later than August 13.
