「夢に向かって」
ロクロを廻してあっという間に４０年の月日が流れていた。
あらためて振り返ると、始めは高校を出て当然に就職したものの、自分が情熱を
傾けて打ち込めるものがないかと悩んでいたのだろうと思う。
その頃、たまたま旅行先で立ち寄った鈴鹿サーキットで見た限界ギリギリのドラ
イビングに接し、いつかこの舞台でハンドルを持ちたいとの夢を持った。
そのとき私の人生が変わった。
幼いころ父から聞いた仕事に対する情熱を思い出し、また、粘土屋に生まれ、粘
土を身近にして育った私は、夢を実現するための第一歩として大好きな粘土を扱う
ろくろ職人になって稼ぎ、その資金で鈴鹿サーキットでレースに出ると心に誓った。
そして始めた清吉窯での修業は、長時間ロクロに座って造る作業の繰り返しだっ
たが、私にいつの間にか形を見る目を育て、忍耐力を付けてくれた。
今思えば、大変だったが、少しずつ上達することが分かり、楽しかった頃であっ
た。
