I have experienced an out-of-stock situation when I was buying a box of breakfast cereal in a convenient store.

There are two major causes lead to the stock out: supplier or distribution center delayed the shipment, and the staff did not move the product onto shelves in time. These two causes mainly showed the stock-out at three places, goods shelves, warehouse and the inventory system.
From one side, to internal control the business in a cost-effective way. First of all, we should manage our people to work efficiently. Staffs need to be sensitive with the goods. Last but not the least, it is better for the business to have a regular inspection to discover some defect in inventory management and formulate a better strategy to improve the customer loyalty. Letting suppliers know our inventory situation timely so that they can arrange the shipment timely.
