「エコクラフトってなんですか」という質問をよくされます。
私達も簡単にしか答えられません。
そのためどんなものなのか、もう一度調べてみました。

So we searched what kind of thing Eco Craft is.
エコクラフト
起源は、米袋を縛るために使われていた紙ひもだと言われています。
もともと梱包用として使われていた紙バンドで様々な作品を編んでしまう事を思いつくなんて素敵な話ですね。
素材にお米などの穀物の袋、牛乳パックの再生紙などを使っている点は、まさにエコなクラフトです。
エコクラフトの人気は高く、様々な国内メーカーが扱っているテープの色は100色を超え、
手芸用品を扱うお店だけでなく、インターネットでの注文など、簡単に材料を手に入れることが出来ます。
しかし、「エコクラフト」という言葉は、ハマナカ株式会社の登録商標のため、
ハマナカ以外のメーカーからは「クラフトバンド」「クラフトテープ」などといった商品名で販売されています。
100円ショップでも、初めて挑戦する人向けのキットも扱っているので手軽に始められます。
エコクラフトのテープには平たいものや縄のような形状のものがあります。
とくに平たいテープは太さを自由に調整ができ、色も豊富なので一番使用される材料です。
縄状になったものを「エコラタン」といい、作品のアクセントに使って温かみを演出することができます。
もちろんエコラタンだけで作品を編むこともできます。平たいテープについて、もう少しその特徴をみていきましょう。
一般的なテープは12本の細い紐を横に並べ、コーティングされた状態で製品化されています。他にも24本のエコクラフトワイドがあります。
編み方や作品のイメージに合うように、テープは好みの本数に割いて使います。
テープを割くために使われる道具は、はさみやカッターなどの他に、安全で手軽に使える梱包用のＰＰテープがあります。
他にも使用済の図書カード、テレフォンカードなどでも割くことができます。こうして用意したエコクラフトを複数本組み合わせて編んでいきます。
途中編み間違えても接着部分のボンドを水で濡らしてはがし、再度編み直すことが出来る点も初心者さんには嬉しいところです。
エコクラフトに似たものとして、籐や竹細工があります。これらでもエコクラフトと同じような作品を編むことができますが、
これらは編み始めるまでに材料の準備に時間や手間がかかります。
その点エコクラフトはテープさえあればすぐに編み始められます。そして一番の違いは、完成した作品が軽量で扱いやすいという点です。

It’s wonderful to come to think of using it to make Eco Craft.
It’s very eco because it uses a bag that is for rice or pack of milk.

However, Eco Craft is the registered trademark of Hamanaka Co., Ltd.
so It is selled as the name of Craft Band, or Craft Tape.
There are starter’s kits for who wants to make one at a 100 yen shop.
There are flat type and rope type shape for craft tape.
Especially, flat type is useful and there are so many colors, so used the most.
A rope type called “eco rattan,” It is used to create warmth and an accent of the products.
Of course, you can make it only by eco rattan.
I want to describe about the feature of the flat type.
An ordinary tape is consisted of 12 thin strings stick together
and it’s coated and productized. More than that there are 24 strings wide eco craft tapes.
Tearing tapes and weave it to matches images.
To tear the tapes use scissors, cutter, and also safely and useful one called PP tapes.
Sometimes use cards to tear it apart.
Using prepared items create Eco Craft using several of iron tapes.
In the middle of weaving if you weave wrongly put off by using water and reweave again.
There are Eco Craft things like rattan and bamboo works.
You can weave them like Eco Craft but it takes time to begin.
On the other hand, Eco Craft, you can weave it if you have tapes.
The most different thing is the products are lighter than any others.
