27:46 3 時ごろ、イエスは大声で叫んだ。 これは、「わが神、わが神、どうして私を見捨てたのですか」という意味です。

無意識の知識が増えることは、経験の幅が広がり、意識が高まることと同義であり、したがって、倫理的な判断を必要とする新しい状況を明らかに提供してくれます。これらは確かに常に存在していますが、知的にも道徳的にもあまり洗練されていない形で把握され、しばしば意図的にペナンブラ（影）に残されてきました。ある意味では、この無関心さをアリバイにして、倫理的な判断を回避することができるのです。しかし、より深い自己認識を得ると、私たちはしばしば最も困難な問題に直面します。すなわち、十誡や他の権威のどの段落でも決定できないような義務の衝突（葛藤）問題です。実際、倫理的な判断はここからしか始まりません。成文化された「汝、してはならぬ...」に従うだけでは、倫理的な判断とは程遠く、単なる服従の行為であり、場合によっては快適な逃げ道でもあり、倫理とは否定的な意味でしか関係しません。私の長い経験の中で、倫理原則の否定を示唆するような状況に遭遇したことはありませんし、この点について疑問を感じたこともありません。それどころか、経験や知識が増えるにつれて、倫理的な問題はより差し迫ったものになり、道徳的な責任も増してきます。一般的な理解とは異なり、無意識(無自覚）は言い訳にはならず、本来の意味での犯罪（違法）であることが明らかになったのです。

Mas, se alcançamos um autoconhecimento mais profundo, muitas vezes nos defrontamos com os problemas mais difíceis, ou seja, com as colisões de deveres, que simplesmente não podem ser decididas por nenhum parágrafo, nem do Decálogo, nem de outras autoridades. Aliás, é só a partir daqui que as decisões éticas começam, pois o simples cumprimento de um "tu não deves..." codificado está longe de ser uma decisão ética; é simplesmente um ato de obediência, e, em certos casos, até uma saída cômoda, que com a ética só se relaciona de forma negativa. Durante minha longa experiência, não enfrentei nenhuma situação que me tivesse sugerido uma negação dos princípios éticos, ou sequer uma dúvida a este respeito; ao contrário, conforme aumentaram a experiência e o conhecimento, o problema ético tomou-se mais premente e a responsabilidade moral se acentuou. Para mim, ficou claro que, contrariamente à compreensão geral, a inconsciência não representa uma desculpa, mas é muito mais um delito, no sentido próprio da palavra.
