セオドア・ルーズベルト大統領は、1902年に職員のためにウエストウイングを使い始めました。ハーバート・フーバー大統領は1929年に火災に続いて改装されました。1930年代には、フランクリン・ルーズベルト大統領の指導のもとに西ウイングが完全に修復されました。改修は1934年に完了し、西ウイングの規模を倍増させ、楕円形事務所を南東部の現在地に配置した。 （議会図書館図書館図書館）。

WHITE HOUSE HISTORY
President Theodore Roosevelt started using the West Wing in 1902 for staff offices, and President Herbert Hoover had the wing remodeled following a fire in 1929. The West Wing was completely rebuilt in the 1930’s under the direction of President Franklin Roosevelt. Renovations were completed in 1934, doubling the size of the West Wing and placing the Oval Office in its present location in the South East corner. (Library of Congress Online Catalog).
