申命記３３章

これは神の人モーセがその死に臨んで、イスラエルの子孫達を祝福したものです。
And this is the blessing wherewith Moses the man of God blessed the children of Israel before his death
1 これは神の人モーセが、その死を前にして、イスラエル人を祝福した祝福のことばである。

2 彼は言いました。
「主はシナイから来られ、セイルから彼らに向かって昇り、パラン山から輝き出で、メリバテ・カデシュ｛無数の聖なる所｝から来られた。
And he said The LORD came from Sinai and rose up from Seir unto them he shined forth from mount Paran and he came with ten thousands of saints from his right hand went a fiery __ law for them
2 彼は言いました。
「　主はシナイから来られ、セイルから彼らを照らし、パランの山から光を放ち、メリバテ・カデシュから近づかれました。

3 主は民を愛しておられる。すべての聖なる者達はあなたの御手にいます。
彼らはあなたの足もとに座って、あなたの言葉を受けとります。
Yea he loved the people all his saints are in thy hand and they sat down at thy feet every one shall receive of thy words
3 まことに国々の民を愛する方、あなたの御手のうちに、すべての聖徒たちがいる。彼らはあなたの足もとに集められ、あなたの御告げを受ける。

4 モーセは私達に律法を命じ、ヤコブの会衆の嗣業を命じました。
Moses commanded us a law even the inheritance of the congregation of Jacob
4 モーセは、みおしえを私たちに命じ、ヤコブの会衆の所有とした。

5 イスラエルのすべての部族が集まって、民の長達を集めた時、エシュルンでこのお方は王でした。」
And he was king in Jeshurun when the heads of the people and the tribes of Israel were gathered together
5 民のかしらたちが、イスラエルの部族とともに集まったとき、主はエシュルンで王となられた。」

6 「　ルベンは生きて、死なないように！彼らの男達がが少なくなりませんように！」
Let Reuben live and not die and let not his men be few
6 「ルベンは生きて、死なないように。その人数は少なくても。」

7 また、ユダのためにこう言いました。
「　主よ！ユダの声を聞いて、彼をその民のもとに導き入れてください！
彼の手は彼のために争い、あなたは彼の敵に対する助けとなってください！」
And this is the blessing of Judah and he said Hear LORD the voice of Judah and bring him unto his people let his hands be sufficient for him and be thou an help to him from his enemies
7 ユダについては、こう言いました。
「主よ。ユダの声を聞き、その民に、彼を連れ返してください。
彼は自分の手で戦っています。あなたが彼を、敵から助けてください。」

8 また、レビについて言われました。

And of Levi he said Let thy Thummim and thy Urim be with thy holy one whom thou didst prove at Massah and with whom thou didst strive at the waters of Meribah
8 レビについて言いました。
「あなたのトンミムとウリムとを、あなたの聖徒のものとしてください。あなたはマサで、彼を試み、メリバの水のほとりで、彼と争われました。

9 その父と母について、『わたしは彼らを見たことがない。』と言った者は、その兄弟達を認めず、また自分の子孫達をも知りませんでした。彼らはあなたの言葉を守り、あなたの契約を守ります。
Who said unto his father and to his mother I have not seen him neither did he acknowledge his brethren nor knew his own children for they have observed thy word and kept thy covenant

They shall teach Jacob thy judgments and Israel thy law they shall put incense before thee and whole burnt sacrifice upon thine altar

Bless LORD his substance and accept the work of his hands smite through the loins of them that rise against him and of them that hate him that they rise not again
11 主よ。彼の資産を祝福し、その手のわざに恵みを施してください。
彼の敵の腰を打ち、彼を憎む者たちが、二度と立てないようにしてください。」

12 また、ベニヤミンについてこう言われました。

And of Benjamin he said The beloved of the LORD shall dwell in safety by him and the LORD shall cover him all the day long and he shall dwell between his shoulders
12 ベニヤミンについて言いました。
「主に愛されている者。彼は安らかに、主のそばに住まい、主はいつまでも彼をかばう。彼が主の肩の間に住むかのように。」

13 またヨセフについて言いました。
「　天の尊いもの、露、地下の深きもののために、主の祝福が彼の地にあるように！
And of Joseph he said Blessed of the LORD be his land for the precious things of heaven for the dew and for the deep that coucheth beneath
13 ヨセフについて言いました。「主の祝福が、彼の地にあるように。天の賜物の露、下に横たわる大いなる水の賜物、

14 また、太陽の果実の尊いもののために、月の実りの尊いもののために、
And for the precious fruits brought forth by the sun and for the precious things put forth by the moon
14 太陽がもたらす賜物、月が生み出す賜物、

15 また、いにしえの山々の最上のものと、永遠のいくつもの丘の尊いもののために、
And for the chief things of the ancient mountains and for the precious things of the lasting hills
15 昔の山々からの最上のもの、太古の丘からの賜物、

16 また、地の尊いものと、その満ち満ちたものと、柴のうちに住まわれたお方の御心のために、祝福がヨセフの頭の上に、その兄弟たちの中の王子である者の頭の冠の上に来ますように！
And for the precious things of the earth and fulness thereof and for the good will of him that dwelt in the bush let the blessing come upon the head of Joseph and upon the top of the head of him that was separated from his brethren
16 地とそれを満たすものの賜物、柴の中におられた方の恵み、これらがヨセフの頭の上にあり、その兄弟たちから選び出された者の頭の頂の上にあるように。

17 その栄光はその雄牛の初子のようであり、その角はユニコーンの角のようです。

And of Zebulun he said Rejoice Zebulun in thy going out and Issachar in thy tents
18 ゼブルンについて言いました。「ゼブルンよ。喜べ。あなたは外に出て行って。イッサカルよ。あなたは天幕の中にいて。

19 彼らは山に向かって民を呼び、そこで義のいけにえを捧げます。
彼らが海の富と砂の隠れた宝とを吸い上げるからです。」
They shall call the people unto the mountain there they shall offer sacrifices of righteousness for they shall suck of the abundance of the seas and of treasures hid in the sand
19 彼らは民を山に招き、そこで義のいけにえを捧げよう。彼らが海の富と、砂に隠されている宝とを、吸い取るからである。」

20 また、ガドについてこう言われました。
「　ガドを拡大する者は幸いです。
彼は獅子のように住み、頭の冠で腕を飾ります。
And of Gad he said Blessed be he that enlargeth Gad he dwelleth as a lion and teareth the arm with the crown of the head
20 ガドについて言いました。
「ガドを大きくする方は、ほむべきかな。ガドは雌獅子のように伏し、腕や頭の頂きをかき裂く。

21 彼は最初の部分を自分のために備えました。
なぜなら、彼は律法学者のある部分に座し、民の頭とともに来て、主の正義とこのお方の裁きをイスラエルに行ったからです。
And he provided the first part for himself because there in a portion of the lawgiver was he seated and he came with the heads of the people he executed the justice of the LORD and his judgments with Israel
21 彼は自分のために最良の地を見つけた。そこには、指導者の分が割り当てられていたからだ。彼は民の先頭に立ち、主の正義と主の公正をイスラエルのために行った。」

22 彼はダンについて言いました。
「　ダンはバシャンから跳び出る獅子の子です。」
And of Dan he said Dan is a lion's whelp he shall leap from Bashan
22 ダンについて言いました。
「ダンは獅子の子、バシャンからおどり出る。」

23 また、ナフタリについて言われました。
「　ナフタリよ！恵みに満ち、主の祝福に満ち、西と南を所有しなさい！」
And of Naphtali he said O Naphtali satisfied with favour and full with the blessing of the LORD possess thou the west and the south
23 ナフタリについて言いました。
「ナフタリは恵みに満ち足り、主の祝福に満たされている。西と南を所有せよ。」

24 また、アシェルについてこう言われました。
「　アシェルが子宝に恵まれ、兄弟達に受け入れられるようにし、その足を油に浸すようにしなさい！
And of Asher he said Let Asher be blessed with children let him be acceptable to his brethren and let him dip his foot in oil
24 アシェルについて言いました。
「アシェルは子らの中で、最も祝福されている。その兄弟たちに愛され、その足を、油の中に浸すようになれ。

25 あなたのかんぬき棒が鉄と黄銅になり、あなたの日々があなたの力になるように！
Thy shoes shall be iron and brass and as thy days so shall thy strength be
25 あなたのかんぬきが、鉄と青銅であり、あなたの力が、あなたの生きるかぎり続くように。」

26 「　あなたの助けのうちで、また空の上でこのお方の卓越性のうちに、天を駆けるエシュルンの神のような者はいません。
There is none like unto the God of Jeshurun who rideth upon the heaven in thy help and in his excellency on the sky
26 「エシュルンよ。神に並ぶ者はほかにない。神はあなたを助けるために天に乗り、威光のうちに雲に乗られる。

27 永遠の神はあなたの避け所であり、その下には永遠の腕があります。
このお方はあなたの前から敵を突き出し、「やつらを滅ぼせ！」と言われます。
The eternal God is thy refuge and underneath are the everlasting arms and he shall thrust out the enemy from before thee and shall say Destroy them
27 昔よりの神は、住む家。永遠の腕が下に。あなたの前から敵を追い払い、『根絶やしにせよ』と命じた。

28 その時、イスラエルはひとり安全に住みます。
ヤコブの泉は、とうもろこしとぶどう酒の地にあり、その天は露を降らせています。
Israel then shall dwell in safety alone the fountain of Jacob shall be upon a land of corn and wine also his heavens shall drop down dew
28 こうして、イスラエルは安らかに住まい、ヤコブの泉は、穀物と新しいぶどう酒の地をひとりで占める。天もまた、露をしたたらす。

29 あなたの助けの盾であり、あなたの卓越の剣である主によって救われた民よ！あなたに似たイスラエルよ！あなたは幸せです。
あなたの敵は、あなたに対して嘘つきであることがわかり、あなたは彼らの高き所を踏みつけます。
Happy art thou O Israel who is like unto thee O people saved by the LORD the shield of thy help and who is the sword of thy excellency and thine enemies shall be found liars unto thee and thou shalt tread upon their high places
29 しあわせなイスラエルよ。だれがあなたのようであろう。主に救われた民。主はあなたを助ける盾、あなたの勝利の剣。あなたの敵はあなたにへつらい、あなたは彼らの背を踏みつける。」

29 しあわせなイスラエルよ。だれがあなたのようであろう。主に救われた民。主はあなたを助ける盾、あなたの勝利の剣。あなたの敵はあなたにへつらい、あなたは彼らの背を踏みつける。」

And this is the blessing wherewith Moses the man of God blessed the children of Israel before his death.
2 And he said: The LORD came from Sinai, and rose from Seir unto them; He shined forth from mount Paran, and He came from the myriads holy, at His right hand was a fiery law unto them.
3 Yea, He loveth the peoples, all His holy ones--they are in Thy hand; and they sit down at Thy feet, receiving of Thy words.
4 Moses commanded us a law, an inheritance of the congregation of Jacob.
5 And there was a king in Jeshurun, when the heads of the people were gathered, all the tribes of Israel together.
6 Let Reuben live, and not die in that his men become few. 
7 And this for Judah, and he said: Hear, LORD, the voice of Judah, and bring him in unto his people; his hands shall contend for him, and Thou shalt be a help against his adversaries. 
8 And of Levi he said: Thy Thummim and Thy Urim be with Thy holy one, whom Thou didst prove at Massah, with whom Thou didst strive at the waters of Meribah;
9 Who said of his father, and of his mother: 'I have not seen him'; neither did he acknowledge his brethren, nor knew he his own children; for they have observed Thy word, and keep Thy covenant.
10 They shall teach Jacob Thine ordinances, and Israel Thy law; they shall put incense before Thee, and whole burnt-offering upon Thine altar.
11 Bless, LORD, his substance, and accept the work of his hands; smite through the loins of them that rise up against him, and of them that hate him, that they rise not again. 
12 Of Benjamin he said: The beloved of the LORD shall dwell in safety by Him; He covereth him all the day, and He dwelleth between his shoulders. 
13 And of Joseph he said: Blessed of the LORD be his land; for the precious things of heaven, for the dew, and for the deep that coucheth beneath,
14 And for the precious things of the fruits of the sun, and for the precious things of the yield of the moons,
15 And for the tops of the ancient mountains, and for the precious things of the everlasting hills,
16 And for the precious things of the earth and the fulness thereof, and the good will of Him that dwelt in the bush; let the blessing come upon the head of Joseph, and upon the crown of the head of him that is prince among his brethren.
17 His firstling bullock, majesty is his; and his horns are the horns of the wild-ox; with them he shall gore the peoples all of them, even the ends of the earth; and they are the ten thousands of Ephraim, and they are the thousands of Manasseh. 
18 And of Zebulun he said: Rejoice, Zebulun, in thy going out, and, Issachar, in thy tents.
19 They shall call peoples unto the mountain; there shall they offer sacrifices of righteousness; for they shall suck the abundance of the seas, and the hidden treasures of the sand. 
20 And of Gad he said: Blessed be He that enlargeth Gad; he dwelleth as a lioness, and teareth the arm, yea, the crown of the head.
21 And he chose a first part for himself, for there a portion of a ruler was reserved; and there came the heads of the people, he executed the righteousness of the LORD, and His ordinances with Israel. 
22 And of Dan he said: Dan is a lion's whelp, that leapeth forth from Bashan.
23 And of Naphtali he said: O Naphtali, satisfied with favour, and full with the blessing of the LORD: possess thou the sea and the south.
24 And of Asher he said: Blessed be Asher above sons; let him be the favoured of his brethren, and let him dip his foot in oil.
25 Iron and brass shall be thy bars; and as thy days, so shall thy strength be.
26 There is none like unto God, O Jeshurun, who rideth upon the heaven as thy help, and in His excellency on the skies.
27 The eternal God is a dwelling-place, and underneath are the everlasting arms; and He thrust out the enemy from before thee, and said: 'Destroy.'
28 And Israel dwelleth in safety, the fountain of Jacob alone, in a land of corn and wine; yea, his heavens drop down dew.
29 Happy art thou, O Israel, who is like unto thee? a people saved by the LORD, the shield of thy help, and that is the sword of thy excellency! And thine enemies shall dwindle away before thee; and thou shalt tread upon their high places.
