Suppose your child says he/she wants to drop out of school.
How old do you think your children should be before they get to make this decision?

Well, I hope my children should be legal adults, which means 20 and older in my native country.
Generally speaking, the decision of whether to leave school will have an unrepairable influence
on the rest of their lives especially in Japan.
So, I really want my children to raise awareness of self-responsibility in making the decision.
If so, I will respect their wishes and support them.

Do you think you are a jealous person?
Tell me why or why not?

I don't think I'm the jealous type.
I would want to be a jealous person if I could become happy
by feeling jealous of others.
When I hear of a case where my favorite person has become happy,
I really feel happy, too.
And when my least favorite person has become happy,
I really think that's none of my business.

What is your biggest failure in your life?

Well, one of my unwanted memories is that I overslept and missed
a Japanese teaching staff examination when I was 26 years old.
After this failure, I was really determined to regulate my life
and study much harder.
Actually, I was able to pass the next year's examination.
