昨年、田舎暮らし体験ツアーに参加していただいた方など、県外から三島町に来られた方は“三島町”がどのような場所なのか知らない方がほとんど。
そこで、新年を迎え改めて簡単にですが三島町について紹介いたします。
三島町は福島県西部に位置し、豊かな自然に囲まれた人口約1,900人の町です。
高齢化率が約４８％と過疎化の進む小さな町ではありますが、その自然とそこに暮らす人々が生み出した歴史・文化は伝統工芸品「奥会津編み組細工」、国指定重要無形民俗文化財「三島のサイノカミ」に代表され、現代の人々に受け継がれています。
また古くから会津桐の産地として知られ、三島町の「桐製品」は全国的にも有名です。
硬く言うとこんなかんじですが、くだけて言えば元気なじいちゃんばあちゃんが住んでる田舎です。
Located in the west of Fukushima Prefecture, Mishima is a small town, abundant in nature, with a population of approximately 1,900 people.
Despite its 48% aging population and continuing depopulation, Mishima’s nature and its people continue to pass down their history and culture through traditional crafts known as, “Okuaizu Amikumizaiku,” and its representative Intangible Folk Cultural Properties of Japan, “Mishima no Sai no Kami.”
Also, since ancient times, known for producing Aizu’s paulownia, Mishima’s paulownia chest drawers are famous nation-wide.
