もう冬ですか

我が家から徒歩で２０分位のところに川がながれていて、その川沿いに散歩やジョギングをしている人をよくみかけます。

鶏頭や菊が沢山咲いていてとてもきれいです。

There is a river about a 20-minute walk from my house, and I often see people taking walks or jogging along it.

Cockscombs and chrysanthemums are in full bloom, and they look absolutely beautiful.

 

 

気温が低くなり秋がないまま冬が来るのかと思います。馬たちの体調も安定してきたようです。シャル君も元気で食欲旺盛です。

今朝9時頃リリちゃんがいびきをかいて寝ていましたが、べつに体調が悪そうでもありません。シャル君の仲間が増えたということでしょうか？

The temperature has dropped, and I feel like winter is arriving without having much of autumn. The horses' health seems to have stabilized, and Sharu-kun is also lively and has a great appetite.

Around 9 a.m. this morning, Lily-chan was snoring while sleeping, but she didn’t seem to be in poor health. Does this mean Sharu-kun has gained a new companion?

 

 

やっぱりドロンコ

夜降った雨で馬場は少し濡れてました。

レツスンのあと放牧したら寝転んで泥を擦り付けてしまいました。

Tさんが今日はクラブの馬のお手入れがないそうで、手伝ってもらえました。

シャル君は嬉しがるけど手入れは大変です。おかげで助かりました。

The arena was a bit wet from the rain that fell last night.

After the lesson, I turned Sharu-kun out, and he rolled around, getting mud all over himself.

T-san said there’s no grooming for the club horses today, so she helped me out.

Charle was happy, but cleaning him up was quite a task. I’m really grateful for the help.

風の強い日

三浦では風速１０メーターの風が吹き荒れていました。

行の高速道路ではハンドルをしっかり持っていないと、急な横風にあおられそうでした。

繋ぎ場では太陽がさしこみ、シャル君の伸びた冬毛がキラキラ光っていました。

今日もご機嫌シャルくんでした。

In Miura, strong winds of 10 meters per second were blowing fiercely.

On the expressway, if you didn't hold the steering wheel firmly, you might get caught by a sudden crosswind.

At the tying post, the sun shone down, making Sharu-kun's long winter coat glisten brilliantly.

Sharu-kun was in a great mood again today.

花と親しむ

土曜日にいただいた友人のてづくりの花器です。菊の花をいれていただきましたが、なんとも愛らしいです。

嬉しいですね！

The handmade flower vase I received from a friend on Saturday is simply delightful. She arranged chrysanthemums in it, and it looks so charming.

先週の木曜日いつものように先生と花屋にいき、金曜日に活けました。

Wさんはお休みで、先生も同じ材料で３人でいけました。

ヒオウギの黒い実がつやつやと光っていましたが、スマホのカメラではうまく撮れず残念です。

 

シャル君もここのところご機嫌です。ただ自分の意志を通すのに軽くかむので、たしなめるやり方はどうすればいいのでしょう。

 

Last Thursday, as usual, I went to the florist with my teacher, and on Friday, I arranged the flowers.

W-san was off, so it was just the three of us, including the teacher, arranging flowers with the same materials.

The black berries of Hiougi (Iris domestica) were glossy and shiny, but unfortunately, I couldn’t capture their beauty well with my smartphone camera.

 

Sharu has been in a good mood lately. However, he lightly nips when trying to assert his will. What is the best way to gently correct this behavior?

 

よく寝ますね！

今日はレッスンはないので、シャル君の気分転換に放牧と手入れに行きました。

よく啼くようになったし、元気なので安心はしているのですが、よく寝ることは相変わらずです。

今日も10時過ぎから寝ていました。

以前研修生が実習に来た時、シャル君の寝姿をみて馬の様子がおかしいと報告があったそうです。

クラブで一番寝る馬です。シャル君より年上の老齢馬さんたちだって日中はたっています。

 

Since there’s no lesson today, I went to the club to let Sharu-kun out to graze and to take care of him for a change of pace.

He’s started neighing a lot and is full of energy, so I’m relieved, but he still naps quite a lot. Today as well, he was lying down sleeping past 10 a.m.

When a trainee once came for practice, he reported that something seemed wrong with Sharu-kun after seeing him lying down asleep.

He’s the horse who sleeps the most at the club. Even the older horses, who are seniors to Sharu-kun, stay standing when they rest.
