God is sovereign; therefore, every hardship that reaches you has been allowed for a good and loving purpose.

Psalm 46:10 10 ``Cease striving and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth."

ローマ人への手紙 8:28 28 神を愛する人々、すなわち、神のご計画に従って召された人々のためには、神がすべてのことを働かせて益として下さることを、私たちは知っています。

Romans 8:28 28 And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.

昨日、私たちは詩篇 46 章 10 節を見ました。そこには、人生で困難な時期には「努力をやめなさい」と教えられています。では、信者は一体どうやって「静まる」のでしょうか (KJV)?

Yesterday, we looked at Psalm 46:10, which instructs us to “cease striving” during the difficult times in our life. So just how is a believer to “be still” (KJV)?

まず、神が私たちの困難を許しておられることを理解しなければなりません。神がすべてを支配しておられると信じるなら、神がこれらの出来事が起こることを許しておられるとも信じなければなりません。第二に、人生が混乱し絶望的に思えるときでも、私たちの試練の背後には目的があります。主は十分な理由もなく困難が訪れるのを許しません。第三に、私たちの困難には目的があるので、振り返ってみると前向きに捉えられる可能性があります。これは、私たち自身の基準、希望、計画どおりにすべてが常に完璧にうまくいくという意味ではありません。しかし、正しく対応すれば、その経験を霊的歩みの成長のきっかけとして振り返ることができるという意味です。

First, we must understand that God is allowing our difficulties. If we believe that He is in control, then we must also believe that He has permitted these events to occur. Second, there is a purpose behind our trials, even when life seems confusing and hopeless. The Lord won’t allow hardships to come our way without good reason. Third, since there is a purpose for our hardships, they have the potential to be seen as positive in retrospect. This doesn’t mean everything will always work out perfectly, according to our own standards, hopes, and plans. But it does mean that if we respond correctly, we may look back on the experience as a catalyst for growth in our spiritual walk.

ローマ人への手紙第8章28節でパウロはこう言っています。「神を愛する人々、すなわち、神のご計画に従って召された人々のためには、神がすべてのことを働かせて益として下さることを、私たちは知っています。」 あなたはこのおなじみの聖句を何度も聞いたことがあるかもしれません。しかし、人生の嵐に耐えるためには、その真実を理解しなければなりません。主は姿を消されたわけではなく、あなたを無視しておられるわけでもありません。神には、最も困難な状況でさえ、すべてのことに目的があるのです。

In Romans 8:28, Paul says, “And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.” You may have heard this familiar verse many times. But in order to endure the storms of life, you must understand its truth. The Lord hasn’t disappeared, and He isn’t ignoring you. He has a purpose in everything—even the most challenging of circumstances.
