イザヤ書７章

ユダの王ヨタムの子アハズの時代に、アラムの王レジンとイスラエルの王レマリヤの子ペカがエルサレムに上ってこれに対抗しましたが、これに勝つことはできませんでした。
2 そして、ダビデの家に告げられて言いました。
「アラムがエフライムと連合しています。」
すると、彼の心は揺り動かされて、その民の心も森の木々が風に動かされるように揺り動かされました。
3 そこで、主はイザヤに言われました。
「今、あなたとあなたの子シアルヤシュブが、上段の池の水路の端、すなわち耕作地の街道でアハズに会うために出て行きなさい！
4 そして彼に言いなさい！
レジン、アラムおよびレマリヤの子の激しい怒りのために、煙る火種のこの二つの尾のために、恐れてはならない。また、あなたの心を弱らせてはならない。
5 アラムはあなたとエフライムとレマリヤの子に対して悪をたくらんで、こう言ったからである。
6 私達はユダに逆らって行き、これを悩まし、私達のためにそこに裂け目を作り、その中にタビエルの子である王を立てよう。」
7 主なる神はこう言われます。
「それは立ち行かない。また、実現しない。
8 アラムの首はダマスカスであり、ダマスカスの首はレジンであるから、六十五年のうちに、エフライムは打ち砕かれて、もう民となることはない。
8 実に、アラムのかしらはダマスコ、ダマスコのかしらはレツィン。―六十五年のうちに、エフライムは粉砕されて、もう民ではなくなる。―
9 エフライムの首はサマリヤであり、サマリヤの首はレマリヤの子である。
もし、あなたがたが信じないないなら、きっとあなたがたは確立されないであろう。」
9 また、エフライムのかしらはサマリヤ、サマイヤのかしらはレマルヤの子。もし、あなたがたが信じなければ、長く立つことはできない。』」
10 主は再びアハズに向かって語られて、こう言われました。
11 「あなたの神である主のしるしを、あなたは求めよ！
深き所にも、高き所にも求めよ！」
12 しかし、アハズは言いました。
「わたしは求めません。主を試みません。」
13 そして、言いました。
「ダビデの家よ！よく聞け！
人を疲れさせることは、あなたがたにとって小さなことで、わたしの神を疲れさせることでもあるのか。
14 それゆえ、主御自身があなたがたに一つのしるしを与える。
見よ！若い女が身ごもって、男の子を産み、その名をインマヌエルと名づけるであろう。
15 その子は悪を拒み、善を選ぶことを知った時、凝乳と蜜とを食べるであろう。
16 その子が悪を拒み、善を選ぶことを知る前に、あなたが恐れている二人の王のいる国は見捨てられるであろう。
17 主はあなたとあなたの民とあなたの父の家に、エフライムがユダから離れた日から、来なかった日をもたらすであろう。アッシリヤの王をも。」
18 その日、主はエジプトの川の果てにいる蝿と、アッシリヤの地にいる蜂のせいで、叫ぶであろう。
19 彼らは来て、険しい谷、岩の穴、すべてのいばら、すべてのわだちの上に、ことごとくとどまるであろう。
20 その日、主はアッシリヤの王といえども、川の向こうの所で雇ったかみそりで、頭と足の毛をそり、また、ひげもぬぐわれるであろう。
21 その日、人は若い牛一頭と羊二頭を飼うようになる。
22 そして、その与える乳の豊かさのために、凝乳を食べるようになり、凝乳と蜂蜜のために、地の中に残っている者は皆、これを食べるようになる。
23 その日、千本のぶどうの木、千本の銀の木があった所は、ことごとく、いばらと茨になるであろう。
24 矢と弓を持って、人はここに来る。
25 また、まぐさで掘られたすべての丘は、いばらととげを恐れて、あなたはそこに来てはならない。

1 ウジヤの子のヨタムの子、ユダの王アハズの時のこと、アラムの王レツィンとイスラエルの王レマルヤの子ペカが、エルサレムに上って来てこれを攻めたが、戦いに勝てなかった。
2 ところが、「エフライムにアラムがとどまった」という報告がダビデの家に告げられた。すると、王の心も民の心も、林の木々が風で揺らぐように動揺した。
3 そこで主はイザヤに仰せられた。「あなたとあなたの子シェアル・ヤシュブとは出かけて行って、布さらしの野への大路のそばにある上の池の水道の端でアハズに会い、
4 そこで彼に言え。気をつけて、静かにしていなさい。恐れてはなりません。あなたは、これら二つの木切れの煙る燃えさし、レツィンすなわちアラムとレマルヤの子との燃える怒りに、心を弱らせてはなりません。
5 アラムはエフライムすなわちレマルヤの子とともに、あなたに対して悪事を企ててこう言っています。
6 『私達はユダに上って、これを脅かし、これに攻め入り、わがものとし、タベアルの子をそこの王にしよう』と。
7 神である主はこう仰せられる。『そのことは起こらないし、ありえない。
8 実に、アラムのかしらはダマスコ、ダマスコのかしらはレツィン。―六十五年のうちに、エフライムは粉砕されて、もう民ではなくなる。―
9 また、エフライムのかしらはサマリヤ、サマイヤのかしらはレマルヤの子。もし、あなたがたが信じなければ、長く立つことはできない。』」
10 主は再び、アハズに告げてこう仰せられた。
11 「あなたの神、主から、しるしを求めよ。よみの深み、あるいは、上の高いところから。」
12 するとアハズは言った。「私は求めません。主を試みません。」
13 そこでイザヤは言った。「さあ、聞け。ダビデの家よ。あなたがたは、人々を煩わすのは小さなこととし、私の神までも煩わすのか。
14 それゆえ、主みずから、あなたがたに一つのしるしを与えられる。見よ。処女がみごもっている。そして男の子を産み、その名を『インマヌエル』と名づける。
15 この子は、悪を退け、善を選ぶことを知るころまで、凝乳と蜂蜜を食べる。
16 それは、まだその子が、悪を退け、善を選ぶことも知らないうちに、あなたが恐れているふたりの王の土地は、捨てられるからだ。
17 主は、あなたとあなたの民とあなたの父の家に、エフライムがユダから離れた日以来、まだ来たこともない日を来させる。それは、アッシリヤの王だ。」
18 その日になると、主はエジプトの川々の果てにいるあのはえ、アッシリヤの地にいるあの蜂に合図される。
19 すると、彼らはやって来て、みな、険しい谷、岩の割れ目、すべてのいばらの茂み、すべての牧場に巣くう。
20 その日、主はユーフラテス川の向こうで雇ったかみそり、すなわち、アッシリヤの王を使って、頭と足の毛をそり、ひげまでもそり落とす。
21 その日になると、ひとりの人が雌の子牛一頭と羊二頭を飼う。
22 これらが乳を多く出すので、凝乳を食べるようになる。国のうちに残されたすべての者が凝乳と蜂蜜を食べるようになる。
23 その日になると、ぶどう千株のある、銀千枚に値する地所もみな、いばらとおどろのものとなる。
24 全土がいばらとおどろになるので、人々は弓矢を持ってそこに行く。
25 くわで耕されたすべての山も、あなたはいばらとおどろを恐れて、そこに行かない。そこは牛の放牧地、羊の踏みつける所となる。

And it came to pass in the days of Ahaz the son of Jotham, the son of Uzziah, king of Judah, that Rezin the king of Aram, and Pekah the son of Remaliah, king of Israel, went up to Jerusalem to war against it; but could not prevail against it.
2 And it was told the house of David, saying: 'Aram is confederate with Ephraim.' And his heart was moved, and the heart of his people, as the trees of the forest are moved with the wind.?
3 Then said the LORD unto Isaiah: 'Go forth now to meet Ahaz, thou, and Shear-jashub thy son, at the end of the conduit of the upper pool, in the highway of the fullers' field;
4 and say unto him: Keep calm, and be quiet; fear not, neither let thy heart be faint, because of these two tails of smoking firebrands, for the fierce anger of Rezin and Aram, and of the son of Remaliah.
5 Because Aram hath counselled evil against thee, Ephraim also, and the son of Remaliah, saying:
6 Let us go up against Judah, and vex it, and let us make a breach therein for us, and set up a king in the midst of it, even the son of Tabeel;?
7 thus saith the Lord GOD: It shall not stand, neither shall it come to pass.
8 For the head of Aram is Damascus, and the head of Damascus is Rezin; and within threescore and five years shall Ephraim be broken, that it be not a people;
9 And the head of Ephraim is Samaria, and the head of Samaria is Remaliah's son. If ye will not have faith, surely ye shall not be established.'?
10 And the LORD spoke again unto Ahaz, saying:
11 'Ask thee a sign of the LORD thy God: ask it either in the depth, or in the height above.'
12 But Ahaz said: 'I will not ask, neither will I try the LORD.'
13 And he said: 'Hear ye now, O house of David: Is it a small thing for you to weary men, that ye will weary my God also?
14 Therefore the Lord Himself shall give you a sign: behold, the young woman shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
15 Curd and honey shall he eat, when he knoweth to refuse the evil, and choose the good.
16 Yea, before the child shall know to refuse the evil, and choose the good, the land whose two kings thou hast a horror of shall be forsaken.
17 The LORD shall bring upon thee, and upon thy people, and upon thy father's house, days that have not come, from the day that Ephraim departed from Judah; even the king of Assyria.'?
18 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the LORD shall hiss for the fly that is in the uttermost part of the rivers of Egypt, and for the bee that is in the land of Assyria.
19 And they shall come, and shall rest all of them in the rugged valleys, and in the holes of the rocks, and upon all thorns, and upon all brambles.
20 In that day shall the Lord shave with a razor that is hired in the parts beyond the River, even with the king of Assyria, the head and the hair of the feet; and it shall also sweep away the beard.?
21 And it shall come to pass in that day, that a man shall rear a young cow, and two sheep;
22 and it shall come to pass, for the abundance of milk that they shall give, he shall eat curd; for curd and honey shall every one eat that is left in the midst of the land. {S}
23 And it shall come to pass in that day, that every place, where there were a thousand vines at a thousand silverlings, shall even be for briers and thorns.
24 With arrows and with bow shall one come thither; because all the land shall become briers and thorns.
25 And all the hills that were digged with the mattock, thou shalt not come thither for fear of briers and thorns, but it shall be for the sending forth of oxen, and for the treading of　sheep.
