On Sunday, July 30th, we climbed Utsukushigahara Kogen (Ohgatou) JA/NN-067 2,034m for SOTA activation.
↓山本小屋ふる里館の駐車場に止める。
↑ Park at the Yamamotogoya Furusatokan parking lot.
↓朝の気温は氷点下4度ほど。
↑The temperature in the morning is about 4 degrees below zero.
今日はチェーンスパイクをつけてスタート。
Start today with chain spikes.
↓ホテル山本小屋の横を通過。
↑Pass by Hotel Yamamoto-koya.
↓美の塔と後ろに王ヶ塔山頂の鉄塔群。右後ろには北アルプスも見える。

↓王ヶ頭ホテルからの雪上車が通る。

↓後ろを振り返る。雪原に延々と続く道。

↓やっと美ヶ原高原の看板まで来た。少しガスってる。
↑I came to the Utsukushigahara plateau signboard. I have a little gas.
↓山頂到着。1時間15分ほどかかった。
↑Arrive at the summit. It took about 1 hour and 15 minutes.
↓一度は泊まってみたい王ヶ頭ホテル。
↑Ohgatou Hotel is a place you want to stay at least once.
↓ホテルから少し離れたテーブルに無線機を準備。
↑Prepare a radio on a table a little away from the hotel.
風が強くてかなり体感温度は寒い。長居はできないか？
The wind is strong and the sensible temperature is quite cold.
28MHzからCQ開始。沢山の北米局から呼ばれた。
CQ starts from 28MHz. Called by many North American stations.
24MHzは北米局1局のみ。後で見るとSPOT周波数を間違えていた。
24MHz has only 1-QSO in North America. When I looked later, the SPOT frequency was wrong.
道理でほとんど呼ばれない訳だ。
It's almost never called.
↓アンテナは、テーブル近くの杭にパイプを縛り付けて釣竿を挿し込む。
↑For the antenna, tie a pipe to a stake near the table and insert a fishing rod.
21MHzでは、オーストラリアから呼ばれた。
At 21MHz, it was called from Australia.
18MHzでは国内Esが出てるようで、北海道からと、フィリピンから呼ばれる。
Seems Es is opened at 18MHz, and it is called from Hokkaido and the Philippines.
14MHzも国内Esが更に開けている様で、関東、関西、九州からも呼ばれる。
14MHz also opened Es, and is also called from Kanto, Kansai and Kyushu.
7MHzでは、14MHzで国内局に呼ばれた為か、いつもより少なめのQSO。
At 7MHz, fewer QSOs than usual, probably I was called by a JA station at 14MHz.
↓一通り各バンドの運用を終えてお昼ご飯。
↑Lunch after the operation of each band.
結局、いつもと同じ位の運用時間。風は強い物の、気温が高くて以外に平気だ。
Same operating time as usual. The wind is strong, but the temperature is high, so I'm fine.
↓昼頃の気温は2度ほどと結構高かった。
↑The temperature around noon was quite high, about 2 degrees.
↓お昼を食べたので、撤収して下山開始。右後方に蓼科山が見える。
↑I ate lunch, so I withdrew and started descending. Mt. Tateshina can be seen in the back right.
↓振り返ると往路でガスってた鉄塔群が良く見える。
↑Looking back, you can see the steel towers that were gassing on the outbound route.
↓帰り道も雪原に延々と続く。
↑The way home continues endlessly in the snowy fields.
気温が上がっているので、少し雪が解け気味で歩きにくい。
The temperature is rising, so the snow is melting a little and it is difficult to walk.
↓柵の向こう側でスノーモービルが走ってた。
↑A snowbike was running on the other side of the fence.
↓無事に車まで帰着。
↑Return to the car.
今日は風が強くて、少し寒かったが、気温が高くて何とか運用できて良かった。
The wind was strong and a little cold, but the temperature was high and it was good to be able to operate as usual.
