NHKのCool Japan という英語の番組は、いつもビデオにとっておいてみることにしています。

今日みたテーマは日本の　推しかつ　についてでした。

その中に競走馬の引退後の再生を推かつする、岡山の吉備町が紹介されていました。

殺処分から免れた馬たちが、再教育をうけ再び乗馬用として活躍できるのです。

とても深く感動しました。

シャル君だって昔は競走馬だったのです。

I always record the NHK program "Cool Japan" in English and today's topic was about "pushing forward" in Japan. One of the segments featured the town of Kibi in Okayama prefecture, where retired racehorses are given a second chance through re-education to become active again as riding horses, thus avoiding euthanasia.

I was deeply moved by this story. Even Sharu-kun, the horse featured in the segment, used to be a racehorse in the past.
