安倍首相〔反省〕に言及せず
 Prime Minister Shinzo Abe vowed not to repeat the
horrors of war at a ceremony making the 71st anniversary
of the end of World War Ⅱ but made no mention of
Japan'S war time aggression in Asia or feelings of remorse.
Emperor Akihito expressed"deep remorse" in the same ceremony.

台湾・韓国で再利用ブーム 
 Japanese-style structures, which were built before the war,
are popular in Taiwan and South Korea.
These buildings, which still have the ambience of the Taisho
or Showa periods,serve as cafes,guesthouses,department stores
and other types of establishments.
Until the end of World War Ⅱ、Taiwan and South Korea were
governed by Japan as colonies.
Despite this complex history,people of younger generations
look at Japanese structures from a different perspective.
Let's listen to what travel writer Yuji Shimokawa has to
say about these buildings.

 More than 11,000 athletes from a record 205 nations
and territories joined the Rio de Janeiro Olympics,
the first Games in South America.
The opening ceremony tracked Brazil's history and celebrated
the diversity of its people,including Japanese immigrants.

長寿日本女性1位手放す
  Japanese women marked a record life expectancy of 87.05 years in 2015,
but gave up the world’s top spot to Hong Kong where the figure was 87.32 years.
They had enjoyed the world’s longest average lifespan since 1985,
except in 2011,when the Tohoku earthquake and tsunami affected the figure.

日本でポケモンGO配信 
After sparking a global frenzy since its release in early July,
the smash-hit "Pokemon Go" smartphone game was finally released in
Japan, the characters' birthplace.
The game has raised safety concerns,however,and the Japanese government
is calling on players not to play while walking or riding a bicycle.
