生き物ずらり　大発見
　The annual meeting of the Zoological Society of Japan,
which is made up of zoologists, was held in Okinawa.
In conjunction with this meeting, an event for the public
was held on the 19th at the Okinawa Times building in Kumoji,
Naha city so that more people could learn about how fascinating
zoology is.
There was an Animal Square where people could see and touch
real small animals up close as well as research presentations
by high school students participating from Okinawa and a lecture
showing creatures that inhabit Oura bay and forests of Yanbaru.
Children also participated and were able to experience the
fun of studying animals.

黒田投手　背番号も引退
　The Hiroshima Carp decided to retire the No.15 uniform
worn by veteran pitcher Hiroki Kuroda, who ended his
20-year career.
Kuroda spent seven years in the major leagues but
chose to return to his home team in 2015 and retired
as a hero in his red Carp jersey.

　　　　　　　こども国際映画祭in沖縄
　The 3rd Kodomo International Film Festival in Okinawa
will be held at the Wakasa Community Center in Naha city
from November 25 to 27.
Both Japanese and foreign films whose theme is children
will be shown and The Grand Prix award winning film
will also be selected.
Okinawa film director Takako Miyahira, who is the
festival director (chairperson of the executive committee),
has been calling for people to participate in the festival,
saying,"Films are food for the soul.
I hope that many children will come to see these films."

　Real estate tycoon Donald Trump was elected America's
45th president in a stunning victory over seasoned
politician Hillary Clinton.
"Now it is time for all Americans to bind the wounds
of division," said Trump,who ran a bitterly divisive
campaign,in his victory speech.

philippine President Rodrigo Duterte said during his visit
to China that he would "separate" from the United States
but later clarified that he did not mean severing
diplomatic ties.
"It is not severance of ties," Duterte said
as he arrived back in his country,explaining
that he meant more independence in foreign policy.
