最近愛用しているバッグでして
丁度iPadが入る位の大きさです。本来は1942年に作られたイギリス軍のガスマスクバッグなんですが、実はこう見えて世界的に有名な（知る人ぞ知るかな。。）バッグなんです。オリジナルは、キャンパスストラップですが、皮ストラップに仕様変更。中は、オリジナルは真ん中に仕切りがあるのですが、大きなものが入らないのでハサミで切り取ってしまいました。これも定番の改造ですね。なにしろ70年も前のデッドストックなので、汚い汚い。。。地元のカバン専門のクリーニング屋に相談したら、キャンパスものの汚れ（カビ）などは、皮モノに比べて非常に難易度が高く、古いものほどアタリが出てしまったりするので、あまりやりたくないとのこと。。なので、教えてもらった方法でDIYクリーニング。まあ、そこそこマシにはなったんですが、ストラップを引っ掛けるキャンバス地が、経年劣化で切れて補修したりで、それなりに手間はかかりました。さて、このバッグのオーナー分かりますか？世界的に有名な考古学者でイニシャルは、I.J。そうですアレですアレ。
