偉大さが手を貸す

Greatness Lends a Hand

影響力と地位に執着し、成功がフォロワー数や「いいね！」の数で測られることが多い文化において、イエスとその教えは、今日でも革命的だと感じられる道を私たちに示しています。

In a culture obsessed with influence and status, where success is often measured in followers and likes, Jesus and his teachings give us a path that still feels revolutionary today.

「あなたがたの間で偉くなりたいと思う者は、皆に仕える者になりなさい」（マルコ10:43-44）。

“Whoever would be great among you must be your servant” (Mark 10:43-44).

これは単なる素敵な言葉ではなく、偉大さがどのようなものであるかを完全に再考したものでした。イエスの周りの多くの人が地位を叫び、権力の座を求めていた一方で、イエスはそれと正反対のことをしていました。

This wasn’t just a nice saying - it was a complete reimagining of what greatness could look like. While many around Jesus clamored for status and sought positions of power, Jesus was doing the opposite.

He spent time with people who could offer nothing in return.

He touched those society had deemed untouchable.

He gave dignity to people who’d been overlooked and forgotten.

His actions weren’t calculated moves for social capital or carefully staged “photo ops” - they were genuine expressions of a revolutionary idea that true greatness isn’t measured by who’s serving you, but by who you’re willing to serve.

When opportunities for power and influence came his way, he often walked in the opposite direction, choosing instead to serve in ways that made onlookers, and even his own followers uncomfortable. He showed that real greatness isn’t about building a platform but about creating a foundation where others can thrive.
