ベルリン囲碁協会所有の大先輩の棋士の掛け軸 Scrolls by Go masters owned by Berlin Go Association

ベルリンでは毎年日本大使館で日本大使杯が秋に開催されていました。
私も２回、指導棋士として伺いました。
ドイツの日本大使館は立地もよく大変、立派です。
囲碁大会も素晴らしいですが今回のテーマは『掛け軸』
In Berlin, the Embassy of Japan hosted the Japanese Embassy Cup every fall.
I also visited twice as a professional player to teach.
The Japanese embassy in Germany is well located and has a grand atmosphere.
The Go tournament is also wonderful, but the theme today is "hanging scrolls".

この写真の正面に飾られている掛け軸が凄いです！
この掛け軸のいわれをまとめた冊子がありますのでご紹介します。
この大先生達の掛け軸をベルリン囲碁協会に寄贈されたのは大正、明治の実業家で囲碁の愛好家であった坂内義雄氏。
私は、息子さんである坂内虎雄氏より、この冊子を頂きました。
やはり碁がとてもお好きで、京都の事なども色々と教えて頂きました。
These scrolls on the wall are amazing!
There is a booklet on the history and meaning of these scrolls that I want to share.
Yoshio Sakauchi, a businessman and enthusiast of Go in the Taisho and Meiji eras, donated these scrolls by the Go masters to the Berlin Go Association.
I received this booklet from his son, Torao Sakauchi.
He also really liked Go, and shared with me many stories, such as about Kyoto.

世界中の新型コロナウイルス感染拡散で自宅にいる時間が増えました。
本当に大変な事になりました。
　ここで前向きに『読書』できる時間も増えたと。。。。。
囲碁ファンならば一度は読んで欲しい本・国際版
With the novel coronavirus spreading around the world, we have more time at home.
It's really become huge problem.
We can try to be positive and interpret it as more time to read books...

　日本の囲碁ファンより欧米の囲碁ファンの方が読んでいる印象を受けます。
I get the impression that Western Go fans read this book more than Japanese Go fans.

何と大変な作業でしょう！
What an amazing work!

今日は小さな碁石磨きをしながら数えました。黒石１８１個、白石１８０個ありました。
Today, I counted these small Go stones while cleaning them. There were 181 black Go stones and 180 white Go stones.

お雛様道具の碁盤、母の形見です。
This Go set is part of a Hina doll set for girl's day, from my mother.

囲碁の本・ 全集① Go books - Complete collections ①

囲碁人口の減少、デジタル化で今は紙の本が減ってます。
そんな時ですが、我が家にある貴重(大事にしすぎて新品・恥ずかしながら)の囲碁全集を
ご紹介します。
デジタルで鑑賞する記譜も良いのですが、当時の解説の仕方も趣きがあり、たっぷり時間を費やして読んでみたい。

With the decline in Go population in Japan and digitalization, paper books on Go are becoming more rare.
But I wanted to share some precious Go books (I.e. I’ve treasured them so much that they haven’t been used ..)
Looking at games online can be convenient, but the comments and explanations from the past times are flavourful and it would be nice to take time to read them.

“The New Go Encyclopedia“


　布張りの箱に収まってます。
It’s kept in a traditional style textile box.

　AI登場後に見直したら、面白そう！
It would be interesting to update it with AI in mind!

　１冊づつ、重いです。まさしく辞典。
Each one is very heavy, like a good proper encyclopedia.

東京・脱出ー松本市へ Escaping Tokyo- to Matsumoto

　この数週間はほぼ自宅に監禁状態でしたが、昨夜、東京脱出。
　あずさで松本市へ。
　今朝、南の山々の下に雲？でも黄色く見える！！！
　先ほどのニュースで『風食』畑などの土埃が巻き上げられる現象と知りました。

These past weeks, I've restricted my travels and was in near quarantine lifestyle, but I have finally escaped Tokyo.
Taking Azusa train, to Matsumoto.
This morning, there seemed to be this cloud(?!) beneath the Southern mountains, but it was yellow!!
It turns out, it was wind erosion, where the wind was blowing up soil to cause dust storms.


　東の方の山々は晴天。
On the East side, the mountains were clear under the blue sky.
　

　世界中で移動制限が多い最中、日本は今のところ、天国。
　都会より地方に来ると、もっと自由な感じです。
　
　澄んだ空気、清らかな水、美しい自然。
　新鮮な野菜、大事ですね！！
　
While so many countries have enforced restricted movements, Japan is like paradise.
I feel more free in the countryside than in big cities.

Clear air, pure water, beautiful nature.
And fresh vegetables, all are so important!!
