Victory Over Sin

私たちは皆、人生における罪の力から解放されるためにイエスを必要としています。

We all need Jesus to set us free from the power of sin in our life.

テトス 2:11-14 11 神の恵みが現れて、すべての人に救いをもたらしました。 12 この恵みは、不信心と世の欲を捨て、この時代にあって、思慮深く、正しく、敬虔に生きるよう私たちに教え、 13 祝福された希望と、私たちの偉大な神であり救い主であるキリスト・イエスの栄光の現れとを待ち望んでいます。 14 キリストは、私たちのためにご自身をお与えになり、私たちをあらゆる不法から贖い出し、ご自分の所有物として、善行に熱心な民をきよめるために、ご自身をささげられました。

Titus 2:11-14 11 For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men, 12 instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously and godly in the present age, 13 looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus, 14 who gave Himself for us to redeem us from every lawless deed, and to purify for Himself a people for His own possession, zealous for good deeds.

罪はすべての人の人生に入り込んできます。そして、それがどのような形をとるにせよ、その目的は常に同じです。それは、神の道よりも自分の道を選ぶように私たちを誘惑することです。

Sin works its way into everyone’s life. And regardless of the form it takes, the goal is always the same: to tempt us to choose our own way over God’s.

不従順のパターンへの陥落は、私たちの心から始まります。いったん思考が関与すると、その影響は行動にまで及び、想像以上に罪に深く関与するようになります。そして多くの場合、私たちは「私がしていることには何の害もない。結局のところ、他の人も同じように行動している」と言って良心を慰め、自分自身を欺きます。

The descent into a pattern of disobedience begins in our mind. Once our thinking is involved, the influence extends to our behavior until we are more involved with the sin than we ever imagined. And oftentimes, we deceive ourselves, soothing our conscience by saying, There’s no harm in what I’m doing—after all, other people behave the same way.

罪の要求は増え続けていますが、その恩恵は短期的です。結局、私たちは満足感の代わりに空虚感、安らぎの代わりに苦痛、そして得るものの代わりに損失を経験します。習慣的な罪は心を分裂させ、感情を混乱させます。他人に対する気遣いや配慮も薄れていきます。時間が経つにつれて、罪悪感は大きな負担となり、予期しなかった悪い結果につながることがあります。

Sin’s demands keep increasing, and yet its benefits are short-term. Eventually, we experience emptiness instead of satisfaction, pain in place of comfort, and loss rather than gain. Habitual sin divides the mind and confuses emotions. Our care and concern for others diminish, too. Over time, feelings of guilt can take their toll and lead toward negative results we never anticipated.

イエス・キリストへの信仰は、私たちを人生における罪の力から解放します。自由への道は告白から始まり、その後、自分だけでは止められないことを認めることです。次に、神の導きに従う決意をします。それは必ずしも容易なことではありませんが、聖書は「神は、私たちの主イエス・キリストによって、私たちに勝利を与えてくださいます」（コリント人への第一の手紙 15:57）と約束しています。

Faith in Jesus Christ sets us free from the power of sin in our life. The road to freedom starts with confession, followed by an admission that we cannot stop on our own. Committing to follow God’s direction is next. It’s not always easy, but Scripture promises, “God … gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ” (1 Corinthians 15:57).
