After the 1200th anniversary of Mount Koya's founding by Kobo Daishi, Kukai, it is noted that Kukai dedicated himself not only to the profound teachings of Esoteric Buddhism but also to mandalas and three-dimensional mandalas. He instructed sculptors at Toji Temple in making Buddhist statues, during which the "Fudo Myo-o" deity first appeared in Japan. This fierce deity, with its powerful expression, was seen as a savior, leaving a significant impact on the Japanese people and spreading across Japan, including at Hozenji Temple in Osaka.
