聖書を読み進めるためのコーナーです。日英対訳の形にしたいと思います。日本語は新共同訳、英語箇所はNew American Bible（米国のカトリック聖書。教皇庁のサイトにも全文掲載）を使っています。問題点が指摘されている最近の改訂版ではありません。Douay Rheims Bibleを使うことも考えましたが、諸般の事情により、こちらの方がよさそうだと私は思いました。
また、日本語箇所に「口語訳」という表記が各行に出ていますが、掲載した文章は新共同訳です。聖書検索エンジンを使うと、新共同訳で検索しても口語訳へのリンクが自動で貼られます。数が多すぎて、削除するのが大変だったので、そのままにしています。
Leviticus
Chapter 1

The LORD called Moses, and from the meeting tent gave him this message:

1 "Speak to the Israelites and tell them: When any one of you wishes to bring an animal offering to the LORD, such an offering must be from the herd or from the flock.

2 "If his holocaust offering is from the herd, it must be a male without blemish. To find favor with the LORD, he shall bring it to the entrance of the meeting tent and there lay his hand on the head of the holocaust, so that it may be acceptable to make atonement for him.

Having brought it to the altar where it is to be burned, the priest shall snap its head loose and squeeze out its blood against the side of the altar.
