April 2020 宮城県の県南の大河原町から船岡に続く白石川の両岸8キロに渡り、大小約1200本の
ソメイヨシノが連なり、見事な景観を見せる。期間中にはライトアップもされ、ボンボリが灯され、
露店も多数出て賑わい、荘厳な蔵王連峰を背景に咲き乱れる、ソメイヨシノを中心とした桜並木は
「一目千本桜」と呼ばれ、町のシンボル的存在。桜まつり期間中、電車は時速30キロほどで徐行運転し、
車窓からの花見を楽しませてくれる。
About 1,200 rows of cherry blossom trees continuing for Shiroishi riverbank about 8km from
famous spot for its cherry blossoms Ogawara Town representing Miyagi to Shibata Town are called
"the cherry blossoms at Shiraishi River Embankment "Hitome Senbonzakura".".
A third of those trees is over 80 years old.
Cherry blossoms of "Shiroishi river" become the ground of "100 selections of Japanese cherry tree
famous places".
For from the beginning of April to the end, cherry blossoms Festival is held.
