In the ranking of decarbonization efforts of major automobile manufacturers announced by the environmental protection group Greenpeace at the 26th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Climate Change Framework Convention (COP26) held in Glasgow, England on the 4th, Japan Toyota Motor received the lowest rating.
The delay in the transition to electric vehicles (EV) echoed.
The target of the ranking is the top 10 companies in the world in terms of sales volume. Toyota was at the bottom along with Western automobile giant Stellantis. Nissan and Honda are both tied for 4th place. The highest rating was General Motors (GM), a major US automobile company.
This environmental protection group, Greenpeace, cuts out only a part of it and creates a ranking of its efforts.
To be clear, the opposite of the ranking created by Greenpeace is the true picture.
For example, more than half of American automakers sell large SUVs and pickup trucks. Are those cars decarbonized?
Like a stupid woman in Sweden, she complains only to countries that emit CO2 in Europe and the United States, and does not say a word to China and India, which emit the most CO2.
Perhaps this group called Greenpeace is a similar group.
