お休みの日に、UBCの敷地内にある
Nitobe Memorial Gardenへ行ってきました
そう！あの旧五千円札の新渡戸さんを記念して作られたお庭です
カナダと新渡戸さん意外な繋がりがあるのを知っていましたか？
それがこのお庭。

On my day off, I went to UBCs Nitobe Memorial Garden!
yes, its the same Nitobe from the old $50 japanese bill.
I never knew there was a connection between Nitobe and Canada.
This garden is made out for him.
北米にある日本庭園で一番の庭と称される庭園です。
2009年には天皇、皇后両陛下も訪れた由緒正しいお庭なんですよ
It was ranked best japanese garden in north america.
In 2009, the emperor and empress of Japan visited this historical garden
バンクーバーの抜けるような青の空とピンクの桜がピッタリですね。
ここ、バンクーバーでは海外なのに沢山の桜を見かける事ができますが
これは昔に、姉妹都市の横浜市から寄贈されたのがキッカケらしいですね。
ちなみに、僕の出身は横浜なので、鼻高々です。。。
The deep blue sky of vancouver matches the the pink of the cherry blossoms.
Even in Canada it is possible to see lots of cherry blossoms.
Apparently the cherry blossoms originated from Yokohama.
It makes me real proud to be born and raised in Yokohama!
