私は過去の世を思う
I recall past worlds
無限かつ数えきれない劫（仏教の長い時間の単位）
Infinite, countless kalpas
仏という人中の尊者がいた
A Buddha, revered among humans
日月燈明と名づけられた
Named Nichigatsu Tōmyō
その世尊が教えを説かれた
The World Honored One preached the Dharma
無量の衆生を救済する
Delivered countless beings
数えきれないほどの多くの菩薩を
Countless millions of Bodhisattvas
仏の知恵に入らせる
Cause to enter Buddha's wisdom
仏がまだ出家していない時
When the Buddha had not yet renounced
生まれた八人の王子
Eight princes born to him
偉大な聖者が出家するのを見た
Saw the great sage renounce
また従って清らかな修行をした
Also followed to practice pure conduct
その時、仏は大乗を説いた
At that time, the Buddha expounded Mahayana
経典の名は無量義である
The sutra is named Infinite Meanings
多くの大衆の中で
In the midst of the great assembly
そして広く詳細に説明した
And explained in detail widely
仏がこの経典を説いた後
After the Buddha expounded this sutra
すぐに法座の上で
Immediately on the Dharma seat
両足を組み三昧に入る
Entering meditation in a cross-legged posture
名を無量義處という
Named the Place of Infinite Meanings
天界の曼陀華が降る
Celestial Mandarava flowers rain down
天界の鼓が自然に鳴る
Celestial drums resound naturally
天界の神々や龍や鬼神
Gods, dragons, and demonic spirits
人中の尊者に供養する
Offering respect to the honored among humans
