砂丘パレス
The circular observation deck near Tottori Sand Dunes in Hamazaka, Tottori City, was once part of a drive-in facility. Built in 1965 (Showa 40) as a highlight of sand dune tourism, it offered panoramic views of the dunes from its then-modern rotating observation deck. Initially bustling during Japan's domestic travel boom, the facility closed within a decade. Today, it serves as a storage site, visited only by its caretaker, urban explorers, and the winds from the Sea of Japan. In those days domestic travels are its mainstream of leisure in Japan.
