今回は[ P ]の単語ですね。
ちょうど「Paralympic（パラリンピック）」の開催期間なので、タイミングが良いようです＾＾
それにしても、オリンピックとパラリンピックの扱いの違いに、毎回ショックを受けます。どうしてこんなにもテレビの放送時間が短くて少ないのか。新聞でもスポーツ記事面に掲載される程度だし。
オリンピックの時は、開会式だって写真が一面にドーン！と乗っていたのに。
マスコミ各社にはオリンピックとパラリンピックの双方をセットとして考えて欲しいです。
さて、今日は少し問題数が多めです。（P自体、比較的単語数が多いですしね）
しばらくは５問で通してきたのですが、もう少しやりがいを求める人もいるかと思って（笑）

今日は、僕個人としても「難しいなー」と思う問題で占められています。
まあ、留学経験のある人やアメリカなどの現地に住んでいる人なら知っていて当然の単語ばかりかもしれないですけど。
それはそうと、半年くらい前だと思いますが、職場のフィリピン人の同僚がくれたお菓子（現地産）の袋の裏面に[preservative]という単語がありました。なんだろうと考えてみると、その前には[artificial color]と書いてある。
[preservative]はもちろん、[artificial]という単語もわからない。
初めは「……何色？」とか思いましたが、しばらく見ている内に、ふと気がつきました。
「あ、これって着色か。着色料だ」
そこから、次に続く言葉は「添加物」か「保存料」くらいなもの。
調べてみると、「添加物」が[additives]（addが付くので添加しているイメージが出ている）で、[preservatives]が「保存料」でした。ちなみに、[additive-free foods]だと「無添加食品」です。
ということで、[Contains No Artificial Colors or Preservatives.]という表示は、「人工着色料および保存料は含まれておりません」だと分かったのでした。
