中国のコウモリに、ヒト感染能を有する新たなコロナウイルスが見つかり「すわ第二のSARSか」と騒がれています。
- 中国のhorseshoe bat。
- 新たなコロナウイルス、SHC014-CoVを同定。
- このウイルスは、ヒト肺細胞においてSARSウイルス同様に増殖し、ヒトに感染しうることも分かった。
- ヒトーヒト感染するかどうかまでは不明。
- SARSに使われた治療薬や、エボラで注目されたZmappのどちらも無効。治療薬がない。
コウモリに存在するコロナウイルスは5000種あまりあり、その中にヒト感染可能性のあることは指摘されてきました。今後、SARSやMERSの後継者（？）が出てくることはifじゃなくwhenの問題として考えねばならないわけですが、我々人類は進歩する動物でもありますので、次回はパンデミックになる前に抑え込みたいものです。
