Whether Shōtoku Taishi actually existed or not is even a debatable topic. It’s like the legendary first Japanese Emperor Jinmu and some of the very earliest Japanese emperors. 

太子道は聖徳太子が通った道だが、京都の太子道は太秦広隆寺への参詣道である。

藤ノ木町に戻ってきた。

Kōryū-ji Temple is said to have been founded in 603 (the 11th year of Empress Suiko’s reign) by Hata no Kawakatsu, a member of a clan of immigrants, with the Miroku Bosatsu (Maitreya Bodhisattva) statue bestowed upon him by Prince Shōtoku as its principal object of worship.

太子道沿いには面白い建築物がある。
