京都府宇治市の宇治平等院の手前にある縣神社（あがたじんじゃ）境内では柴犬が日向ぼっこをしている。縣神社では毎年6月5日に「暗夜の奇祭」と呼ばれる「県祭」が行われ、境内の梵天奉納所には、祭りで使われる大きな梵天が奉納されている。梵天とは長い棒や竹の先端に御幣を複数取付けたもののこと。
