Israel has struck a mosque in Jenin refugee camp in the occupied West Bank, with Palestinian medics reporting at least two people killed. Israeli’s military said the strike on Al-Ansar Mosque early on Sunday killed several “terror operatives” from Hamas and Islamic Jihad who had been using the building as a command centre to plan attacks.

Israeli military officials said those killed were organising an “imminent” attack and had been involved in several attacks in recent months. Footage on social media appeared to show heavy damage to the mosque’s exterior and medics rushing to the scene. It is believed to be only the second time Israel has launched an air raid on the occupied West Bank since 2006.

Police in London have estimated 100,000 people took to the streets for the “National March for Palestine” demonstration to denounce Israel’s relentless bombing campaign and total blockade of Gaza. “We are all united to deliver the same message: we want the violence to end. We’re calling for an immediate ceasefire and for necessary humanitarian supplies to be safely delivered to the people of Gaza,” Ben Jamal, director of the Palestine Solidarity Campaign, said in a post on X.

Seventeen aid trucks cross from Egypt into Gaza

Trucks carrying aid have crossed the Rafah border passage from Egypt into the Gaza Strip, according to multiple international and Egyptian media outlets. Sunday saw the passage of 17 trucks, a day after 20 trucks carried medical aid, food and water into the Palestinian enclave, reports say. The UN estimates about 100 trucks per day are needed to meet the needs of Gaza. Al Jazeera's correspondent, Hani Abu Isheba. He joins us live from the Gaza strip.
