Kawamura mayor in Nagoya-shi proposed when he wanted to open a forum at the site about the " Nankin massacre.

名古屋市の河村市長は、「南京事件について現地で討論会を開きたいと提案しました。
ところが、在日中国大使はこの申し出を頑なに断りました。
中国共産党政府は単なる臆病ものであると思います。
なぜなら、全世界の人、南京市民に「虐殺などなかった」という真実を知られたくないのです。
つまり、討論会をすると南京大虐殺など歴史上に存在していないことが判明してしまうのです。
もしも、河村市長が、南京市において、自分の父親の経験談を話せば、動揺する多くの中国人が出てしまいます。
必ずやそれは、中国共産党性の現体制批判につながるはずです。
まさに、中国共産党政府は河村市長の発言に戦々恐々としているのです。
よく「小さな犬ほどよく吠える」と言われます。
中国機関紙「人民日報」の大騒ぎぶりはその何よりの証左です。
日本の一人の市長の発言に大騒ぎする中国共産党政府の態度は大国としてあまりにも臆病者だと思います。
「代償を負うことになる」などの大人げない脅しは止めましょう。
今後、南京事件に対して、国際的な有識者も交えた徹底した歴史的検証が望まれます。

断定的な表現を避け、極めて穏当な発言である。
しかし、藤村修官房長官は「非戦闘員の殺害、略奪行為は否定できない」と河村市長の発言を否定し、「村山談話以来、政府の姿勢は変わっていない」と述べた。
村山談話とは村山富市元首相が平成７年、先の大戦の要因を「植民地支配と侵略」と断じ、閣議決定もされた。だが、あくまで当時の内閣の歴史認識を表明したものであって、今回の河村氏の発言とは無関係である。
