英作問題『花見』1、2答と考え方

1. 今日は花見だ。

→桜はcherry blossoms. なので
・We are going to see the cherry blossoms.

花見だ、といえば、宴会と考え
・We are going to have a party near cherry trees.

他に
・We are going to enjoy looking at the cherry blossoms today.

花見とは、花を見て、飲んで食べて喋って
笑って楽しむこと。
・We'll see the cherry blossoms, eat, drink, talk, laugh, and have fun(with everyone).


2. 新入社員が、桜の近くで陣取っている。

→陣取るとはどういう行為か。
要素分解すると、桜がよく見える場所を探して(find the best place)そこで座って(sit )、他の人が来るまで待つこと(wait)。

・After finding the best place for a party near the cherry trees, those new staff (from a company) sit and wait until other staff come.

陣取る＝待つこと、を強調して
・They are waiting for their friends (under the cherry trees).

陣取るとは、最適な場所で宴会すること。
・They want to have a party at the best place near the cherry trees.

陣取る＝場所を確保することなので、keep やtake などを用いて、
・They took the best spot for the party.
・They keep the best place (to themselves) for the party.

陣取るとは、その場所は、彼らのものだ、と示すこと。
・They are sitting near the cherry trees to show that the area is theirs.

陣取るとは、他人に場所をとられない（他人が来ない）ようにすること。
・They are sitting there so no one else can come.

陣取りとは、早く来て(come early)最高の場所をとる（get)こと。
・They come early to get the best spot for the party.



海外の日本紹介記事で、花見の箇所を見ると、旅行者へのアドバイスとして、
・Get to the park early to reserve your hanami spot.
と reserve を使っていた。なるほど。
