このようなおつまみで　γGTPは三桁　
総コレステロール値も高めなのは　不思議です........

ウニ丼 Sea urchin Bowl

北海道からウニ丼の写真が届きました。
NORIKO先生が本場積丹の食堂で食べた
ウニ丼だそうです。
天下一品だそうです。うまそーーーーーー！

I got this photo from DENTIST NORIKO
in Hokkaido, who enjoyed it in Shakotan
Peninsula, the home of sea urchin.
She said the taste was second to none.
Oh........Looks mouth-watering !

穴子丼 Conger eel Tempura Bowl

以前掲載したことのある　高島平の
更科そば屋さんの穴子丼定食￥950です。
ボリュームがあります。
江戸風の色の濃い　どっしりした天ぷらです。
しばらく節食しなければ..........

This is a set menu ($8) of the soba shop
in Takashimadaira, I've introduced before.
Featured Tempura is Edo-Style, very deep fried.
It was a heavy lunch, I must go on diet.

缶詰丼 Canned Fish Bowl

最近のマイブーム
さんまの蒲焼き缶詰と温泉たまご
Cheap & Simple
ウニ丼と比べかなりショボイですが........
でも　うまいんですよ。

今回はやはりウニ丼の勝利ですね。

This is the new trend of my meal.
Canned Grilled Saury and soft-boiled egg.
Cheap, simple and humble compared with
Sea urchin Don...... but I love it.
This time, the gold medal apparently
goes to Sea urchin.

たまご絵（その２） Pictures on eggshells (2)

私はゆで卵が大好きです。
若い頃相方と二人　ゆで卵をいくつ
食べられるか挑戦したことがあります。
黄身の周りが青くなる程の固ゆでを
３０個用意しました。
相方は６個でダウン　私は１３個食べました。
若い時でなければ出来ないイベントです。
若くてもそんなバカな事はしない人の
方が多いかも知れませんが..........

I love boiled eggs.
When we were newlyweds, we tried eating them
as many as possible.
We prepared 30 of hard-boiled eggs.
She gave up after having six of them.
I ate 13.
It was just a play because of our youth,
but most of the young people may not
give such a silly try.

聖護院大根 Shougoin-Daikon(Turnip-shaped Daikon)

先月お隣の元農家から見事な聖護院大根を
いただきました。（出来すぎると捨てちゃうのだ
そうです。もったいない）
一部はがんもどきなどと　煮合わせて食べますが
我が家ではほとんどは粕味噌漬けにして
いただきます。
今回もとてもおいしく出来ました。
ご飯にもお酒にもぴったりです。

Last month, I got these wonderful Daikon from
a neighboring farmer, who said
" You can take them as many as you want.
I leave the rest of them as they are in this field,
as we have too many" What a waste!
We cooked part of them with Ganmodoki(*)etc.,
but we pickled most of them in salt and
after then pickled in mixed Miso and Sake-lees.
It's good for both rice and sake.

(*) fried Tofu mixed with pieces of vegetables
and seaweed.


つまみ食いした後で写真を撮るのを思い出し
粕味噌漬けが減ってしまった状態です。
上は鮪カマ塩焼き。　お酒がはかどります。

After sneaking pickles, I remembered to take the photos.
So they look less.
The other dish is grilled tuna.
We are running out of sake........

ベトナム フォウ Vietnamese Pho(rice noodles)

ちょっと一休み

上野アメ横はアジアンな熱気と雰囲気が
感じられて私の好きな場所です。
中でもアメ横センタービルの地下１階は
とても日本とは思えません。
中国系　韓国系の食材店が中心なので
何に使うのか　どのように調理するのか
解らないような食材が沢山並んでいて
見るだけでも楽しい所です。
珍しいところでは　皮むきたてカエル
冷凍うさぎ　ありとあらゆるの豚の内蔵
名前も解らない魚等........
そこで手に入れたベトナムのフォウが
今日のお昼です。
台湾のビーフンとまた違った食感の麺で
ビーフンと共にたまに無性に食べたくなる麺です。

基本スープレシピ
コンソメ＋かつお・こんぶのだし汁＋オレガノ＋
バジル＋タバスコ（これが重要）

Ame-Yoko area in Ueno is full of Asian excitement
and atmosphere.
So, I love visiting there.
Above all, the basement floor beneath Ame-Yoko
Center Building doesn't look like Japan at all.
Asian ingredients are well stocked there,
especially, Chinese and Korean one.
About some of them, I have no idea what to use for
or how to cook them.
....... just skinned bullfrogs, frozen hares,
all kinds of guts of pigs, fish I don't know
the name of .........
I enjoy enough just looking around.
Today's lunch is Vietnamese noodles I got there.
Pho has texture somewhat different from Taiwanese one.
Sometimes I am dying to eat them.

Our recipe of basic soup is as follows,
a couple of cubes of consomme, 3 cups of stock
from dried bonito and seaweed(Kombu)
seasoning(Oregano, Basil, Pepper, you name it)
and Tabasco(This is a must ! )

汁ビーフン Soup Rice-vermicelli

味気ない話が続いたので今日は一服して
麺の話です。
今日のお昼は台湾の新竹汁ビーフンです。
新竹ブランドの中でも一番細い麺で　私の知る限り
世界で最も細いのではないかと思います。
日本のそーめんよりも　イタイアのバーミセリ
よりもかなり細く　しかも煮くずれたり
溶けたりしません。驚異的です。
優れておいしい麺です。

You might begin to feel bored with my
" economic" matters.
So this time, I'll take a break.
Yes, " All That Food"
Today's lunch is Taiwanese Rice-vermicelli,
(Shinchiku-brand),
which may be the thinnest noodls in the
world as log as I know of.
It's like a hair, so far thinner than Japanese
Sohmen or Italian vermicelli,
nevertheless, they surprisingly keep their
shape after being long simmered.
Tremendous noodles!

味噌がゆ Miso(soybeans paste) gruel

寒い朝は卵を落とした熱々の味噌がゆが一番です。
子供の頃はご飯にみそ汁をかけて　削り節を
のせた「猫まんま」を猫と一緒に食べました。
もちろん器は別ですが。
私も猫も結構満足していたように思います。
５０年も前の話です。古っ！

次回から「版画家の経済事情」というお話を
１０数回に渡って掲載してゆきます。

In the cold morning, steaming miso gruel
containing a poached egg is the best
for breakfast.
When I was a child, with my cat, I would
eat so-calld " cat meal" (poures miso soup
and puts dried bonito flakes onto rice)
Even such a simple diet we were satisfied.
Anyway, it was a half century ago.
What a old story !

From next time, over 10 times or so,
I' ll post on " Hanga artist' s economic
conditions"

ラーメン（１） Ramen(1)

今回は版画の話をちょっとお休みして
我が家のラーメンについてお話します。
相方の実家は親子三代に渡ってラーメンを
美味しく作る技を持つ家系です。
いつの間にか札幌ラーメンが味噌あじになる前の、
元祖ミソラーメンを名乗る店の親爺が
おこがましくも客に食べ方なぞを教える以前の、
満腹屋のおばちゃんが売り上げの札束（百円札）を
うれしそうに数えていた頃のラーメンです！
（この辺かなりローカルなので飛ばして読んで下さい）
自家製スープは凝らず、手間をかけず、
ちょんちょんと作ってしまいます。
色々な素材を何時間も煮込んでスープを取るなんて
そんな面倒な事はしません。
３０分もあれば作ってしまいます。
でもこれが美味しいんですね。
今回は少し趣向を変えて　鳥塩味スープです。
麺は札幌の菊水製麺のものです。
ごちそうさま！

ある日の夕食 Dinner one day

私のブログは食いしん坊のせいか　どうしても
食べ物草子のようになってしまいます。
厚切りの食パンの真ん中をくり抜いて　そこへ
卵を落として焼きます。これがまたおいしい！
自家製手作りの焼き鳥とシチュー　統一の
とれていない組み合わせは 我が家の特徴です。
ごちそうさま。

The title of my blog shoud be changed for
" All That Food " as I'm a greedy eater.
Making a hole in the center of bread sliced
as thick as 5cm, put an egg in it and bake.
That's great !
Stew and homemade ' Yakitori '
Unorganised combination is characteristic
of our dinner.

飛騨のりんご Apples from Hida

最近お近付きになった版画家のKさんから
送っていただいたリンゴです。
香りが良くて　甘くて　まるでお菓子のようです。
大変美味しいリンゴでした。
でも　昔食べた「農林１号」や「旭」など
がんこなリンゴも懐かしいです。

These apples were gifted by a print work artist
I' ve got acquainted with recently.
Being fragrant, sweet like sweets,
they were very delicious.
But I miss sour ones like "Norin #1" or "Asahi"
I ate a long time ago.

卵絵 Pictures on eggshells

我が家では生卵とゆで卵を区別するため
しるしや絵を書きます。ゆで卵に書きます。
この日は家人が居なくて夜ビールをやりながら　
私が絵を描きました。気ままに書き出したら　
おもしろくて釈迦風の人やその弟子風　
鬼を書き込みました。
もちろん書いた後はおつまみでいただきました。

We keep boild eggs marked to tell them
from raw ones.
One night when I was alone,
I drew them over beer.
I gradually warmed up to depicting
Buddha, his disciple and a demon.
After that I ate them with beer, of course.

相方がしばらく実家に帰っていないので
今日の夕食はFast Foodとなりました。
アメリカ代表　ケンタッキーフライドチキン
日本代表　冷や奴
モンゴル代表　モンゴリアンカップヌードル
お味の方は？
モンゴルがんがれ！でした。

今日のお昼は 手打ち更科の
新そばをいただきました。
もう２０年近くかよっている高島平の
おそば屋さんです。
本当においしい更科をたっぷりいただけます。
至福の時間でした。
ごちそうさまでした！

Today I had the first soba of the season
for lunch.
I 've frequently visited this Soba shop
in Takashimadaira for the last two decades.
The shop always serves really nice soba,
which I eat to my heart 's content.
It 's the happiest moment ! .

朝食

ある日の朝食です
-MY breakfast one morning-

適当な青菜をきざんで入れた　おかゆです。
我が家では　『青がゆ』と言っています。
その日によって　塩こぶや漬け物　
残っていた白身魚などもきざんでいれます。

おいしいですね。

This is rice gruel containing minced green
vegetables (any greens in the fridge will do you)
I call it "AOGAYU" which means"Green Gruel"
I sometimes add seaweed or leftovers whitefish to it.

It tastes great !
